Funnydwarf: Basic things, name address telephone, date of birth is not obligatory and neither is a photo (unless you want to become a magazine cover model), it's usual to describe what you have done in the last ten years (dates, names of companies and your duties and responsibilites) your education - what you achieved. Some companies also want to know what your hobbies are - if you have a 'dangerous' one would suggest you don't mention it!! If you have any references from anybody you could also include those. A resume depends a lot on the job you are going for - some companies do not appreciate a lot of others want your whole autobiography Will be pleased to help you out with yur CV

rainbowtreat: I just had to do one for myself and my husabnd helped me out. You can look on line for a basic resume outline to help you out. You can have one resume and just change the heading for each job you apply for.

If there is a certain job you are going for you can also find ones that are desinged for that type of job.

I foudn I had a hard time putting into words what I did at my jobs. For instance I worked at a bank for 5 yrs and a day caenter for about 5 years. I knew what it was I did there but had to put it into words taht looked good on a resume. So I looked up and found the dities of a bank teller and of a child care teacher. What I found was exactly what I wanted to say but just couldnt not make it sound that good myself.

Good luck with it Tink.

urbanhermit: I would make the case that its best to be upfront about it. Lets the prospective employer know that you are honest and its better to bring any issues to the forfront. Of course you could argue both sides, just my opinion.

Tinkerbell: I want them to know why I am looking for a job...without telling them. that is why I included my reason for leaving.

I never completed college ...so I thought that might go against me...you know start something, but don't finish.

My interests...hmmmm, tractor pulling, plowing, sewing, reading,,,I figured I would bore them

Thanks Guys.... s

Rainbow...did you get the job?

rainbowtreat: I never went to collage but I did take some night classes and even though it was not in the field I am going for it shows the type of person I am. For instance I took early child development classes as I was headed into day care. They looked at that and my child care experiance and saw it as I have patience. That is good to have when working with the public.

A resume from my point of veiw, is a little more professional then an application. Most places want both.

I just want you wo have the best resume possible.

And I have not heard about the job yet. I am , as a friend asked me sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear. If I don't hear by the end of the week I will call them.
