Black Cats Arleneday: Hello. I have 2 black cats. One is going to have babies anyday now. They were both strays. I have a dog too. He was a stray. They all get along so good. I love animals. I rasied him along with 4 other kittens whose owner was neglecting their Mother. I kept 3 and 2 went to a farmhouse as a pair. I find it very interesting how many people are afraid or superstitious of black cats. My Zubi has a beautiful calm personality, yet many people will not go near him. Has anyone ever noticed that with their black cats? jazzy_fizzle87: my old cat was black. montague hudson 1st.. he was a stray that had run away from his family who had kept neglecting him to the point where he would end up in the pound everyweek.\ the lady who previously owned him kept bailing him out but in the end the pound wouldnt let her get him back so she gave him up.. then got her sister to adopt him and she took him to live on a farm about 50kn from where we lived, where he was still neglected, thts when he ran away. he turned up on our back porch very very skinny and his eyes were lined with ticks. we cleaned him up.. he was desexed but was a fighter and would dissappear for 5 days in a row.. and we would all be distraught wondering whether he would return and he always did. covered in bights and scratches, mum would clean him up and he would sleep infront of the fire and just be a love bubble for a few days then go again.. he died last year from a cyst in his mouth which he got from fighting a possum.. he lived a long long eventfull life, but he was happy. rip monty. now i have a black cat smooch.. hes an idoor cat. i dont let my babies go outside too much danger. but smooch like to kill everything. but is a big sook too.. im rambling. but basically i love black cats they have the personality...  Dae: I have a black cat right now. She's very cute and energetic. And she's a true hunter. I think that all the prejudices connected to the black cats are totally unfair. I named my cat Shadow (or Ten' as it would sound in russian) and she really behave like that, jumping from the dark corners or running across the flat with the speed, close to the speed of sound  Angie: I have a black cat. I hated how people in the past treated black and even gray cats, killing them out of ignorance But way before that cats were treated like gods mayjayran: Our local Humane society is overun with black cats-some foolish people believe they are bad luck. HannahGestalt: some people say the superstition of unluck is for white cats some say black. i've had two black cats in the past and their nature's are unpredictable - affectionate one minute and attacking you the next. a true black cat is often sensitive (allergies etc) - if your black cat's fur gets any brown tinges after sunbathing then it may not be 100% black cat.  dolcey: When I first got my cat, he was a kitten and my Mom wanted me to return him because he was black but she quickly warmed up to him. We fostered a litter of 12 kittens, four were black. Found all 11 kittens homes, and adopted the last remaining 'black' kitten, named him shadow! Kept his momma too!
