What are you reading now? (Page 3) CandyMountains: Just finished "Superhotsex" by Tracey Cox. Currently working my way through "Aleister Crowley and the Ouija Board" by J. Edward Cornelius.  SilverGhostStar: I'm reading a couple of different books now. The Mists of Avalon and Enchanted. Both very good so far. I love how The Mists of Avalon focus more on the women and their use of magic. For Enchanted, it's just a really cool story so far. It's like a fairy tale but not so cliched? It is a bit fast-paced so far though. Still, I would highly recommend both books.  redrobin313: I just finished Raymond Chandler's last novel "Playback" I've always liked Chandlers writting. I know this isn't a good "reveiw" but I just started, I'll get better with practice!  SkinnyKitten581: On a Tuesday at two o' clock two weeks from the last time I saw him there I was again sitting across from my friend Dennis who for the first time seemed relaxed and off his guard from his usual self full of flair and intensity. That day I found myself doing most of the talking while he seemed to be a minute fraction, or some other unit of measurement, on another planet I did not exist upon. For instance, for most of our conversation he sat slumped down in his chair a little with his feet resting on another while methodically eating chocolate truffles from a gold, foil bag. At the time I was merely amused to think I wasn't on his radar today. Instead, he was lost in musing revelry and scintillating memories of the s#% he had with his boyfriend last night who really must have rocked his world. At least enough to make him relocate for the time being. That is what was different in the room that day; I was the only one there but I digress. He became excited when I turned my attention toward a book on his table. Before I could ask him anything about it he told me it was the book he was reading at the time. It was called, "Einstein's God", I'll tell you what it was about. Throughout Albert Einstein's life his belief in a supernatural, divine entity was, like most people regardless of I.Q. number, tinged with complication and of a deeply personal nature. But to a man so complex himself and frequently misunderstood this personal relationship warranted exploitation not merely to begin actualizing this man's faith through a bestselling biographer but also in the process trying to further understand this Maker. These books seemed to me, somehow, more interesting than reading "Waiting for Godot" for the 19th time that I could not wait to get home and order my own copy online. But this proved to be more than just a simple recommendation from a fellow reader and a good friend. When I had finally got to Amazon.com I was surprised to find I was faced with more than just one choice like which copy do I buy; the one in excellent condition or the copy in good condition. I found I had the choice between, "Einstein's God", by Todd Macalister and, "Einstein's God", by Krista Tippett! In the short time I talked with Dennis in that little room I never once got the name of the author or a good look at the cover. However, the interesting thing about choice is you can choose to use it and make a decision one way or another or abandon the truest essence of the word and make no real choice at all; which is exactly what I decided to do by getting both books. Had there been a third author who had written a book touching the subject of the Religiosity of the greatest mind of the 20th Century naturally I would have gotten them as well but we are restricted to just these two. As it turns out, though, while both Todd and Krista had differing approaches to their books they compliment each other in the way one book reveals the Austrian Scientist's spiritual beliefs through the subject's own manifestations while the other draws upon years of material interviews with top modern scientists living today on their beliefs and, interestingly enough, how they seem to unify with Einstein's. But the question was, "What are u reading right now?" While I realize the difference between something being presently read and something which has already been read and I have missed the point in giving you the latter difference I really only just finished these two books; and in my book that counts. And this as well, while the point has also been missed in telling you about two books I have just read and not just one I have only one thing to say about that. They have the same title. That counts, too. BLEH! SkinnyKitten581: "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess. An American print from 1986 by W. W. Norton and Company with the missing 21st chapter. The dust jacket is the orange and yellow one with the mad man on the cover quoting in a speech bubble, "Yarbles, bolshy great yardblockes to thee and thine." I'm sure to know what that means by the end of the book.  senneth: I'm currently reading "Bel Canto" by Ann Patchett. I love this book, and I have read it multiple times. xXDarkChaosXx: I'm reading Shadow Dance by Douglas Borton amazing Fantasy/Thriller book; it keeps u turning pages. Koko_Krunch: Good choice. Also make sure you watch the 'Excalibur'. The movie that was based on that version of the King Arthur legend. An awsum movie!
