do you really think that there are REAL vampires in the world? otcclass: there are many books and movies about this subject but can there really be REAL vampires that are "dying" among us? Loup_: Not sure about the actual existence of vampires...but there is such a thing as psychic energy, and there have been some cases of people who have been able to draw another being's "psychic" energy. Hence the term psychic vampire. Also there is a disease sometimes referred to as, "Porphyric Hemophilia" aka vampire's disease. Loup_: Unfortunately these things only happen in stories. If vampirisim is real, most shy away from it for social reasons, or fear of being ostracized. Vampire covens that exist all over the world.  MechaArya: My opinion is that there aren't the Hollywood style vampire. The ones that get bitten and turn into this blood sucking hunter of the night (or some sparkly princess if you read twilight) or anything of that kind. But there is a disease called "Porphyria" which is know as the vampire disease. Back in the "olden" days when the idea of a new medical advance was getting a new stake knife. Someone with Porphyria may appear to actually become a vampire because they are extremely sensitive to light, their blood iron drastically drops which causes a need for food rich in iron (raw meat for example).
