Siera3: Its amusing that you tell someone to mind their own business in an open forum as this one. Your business is aired, so others may comment, and often times you will not agree with their comments, and that is just the way it is. I personally disagree with the comment/statement
"" the truth is that life is soooooooooo messed up that we can hardly do anything to help them"".
As an educator myself, I absolutely disagree.

bella1007: Siera can you expand. How can you say you disagree and then not support your opinion. I believe Andie was not speaking in absolute. Dealing with 'at risk' students for 10 years of my life, there have been times where I have felt helpless. We have no control of their environment, all we can do is lend an ear those who trust us enough to tell us. That is how I interpreted Andies comment.

flybutterfly: i think many put themselves in the shoes of teachers and they don't know a thing of how one tries to make things better in the classroom.

Gala_: Andie you so do NOT know who surrounds you here. Stop being such a know it all, and thinking you are so above us. You do NOT know our status and position in real life........so stop thinking you are the only one with brains here. Again, get another occupation!!!!

Gala_: remember, as a Teacher they hire you to get "Burned Out".....maybe you have reached that finish line! You sure you arent overwhelmed with the role? let alone deal with the consequences of your negative attitude?

Hyenablood: I'm sure I don't need to remind you all, but teachers don't get paid nearly enough to put up with the endless abuse and suffering that kids sucker punch them with. I can understand why everyone responding to this topic is so touchy and bitchy...not enough money, too much daily BS.

bella1007: Well Black_Heart I hope that if you are responsible for hiring teachers in any way, please find another job. I would never want to work for you. Fortunately I am in a school and district that care about the health of their teachers.

bella1007: I am just strictly stating an opinion.

This blog started out as caring teachers sharing experiences and it has turned into people criticizing teachers yet again. Please let this go back to being a support amongst educators. We have enough to deal with within the walls of our communities.

ShannonJM4U: In Middletown,Ct they just arrested a female teacher for doing something with a special needs student. Most are men though. I'm not defending male teachers but some of the teen girls these days are really built!!! It's not an excuse but men are men.
I've seen a few walk by my house and I kinda get why male teachers get tempted.
It's wrong but I can see why they lose their minds.

bella1007: I feel that is part of our jobs as teachers as well. I teach math and seriously are they ever going to use adding rational expressions in life. However, I do teach them, hopefully, to have confidence to build self esteem so that they realize they don't have to get attention from showing inappropriate skin.
