Luncheon 01

Foods of Zhya
Zhya:
~2 cups of white rice, washed
~8 oz steak strips

~2 carrots, chopped
~1 green bell pepper, sliced
~6 mushrooms, sliced
~1 ear of corn, shaved
~4 green onion, chopped
~Water chestnuts, bamboo shoots

~Teriyaki sauce
~1 teaspoon soy sauce
~Lemon Pepper seasoning
~Garlic salt
~Oregano
~Vegetable Oil


Marinate steak strips in Teriyaki sauce for half an hour.

Prepare vegetables: slicing and dicing as you go. Keep mushrooms to green onion and carrots to green bell pepper; corn is stand-alone.

Boil rice in 2.5 cups of water and a touch of garlic salt. Cover and remove from heat. Fold-stir often to avoid drying the rice.

Fry mushrooms/green onion (chestnuts and bamboo) mix in skillet with light vegetable oil until thoroughly cooked. Space vegetables along the edge of the skillet and add corn in the center. Mix together when corn is slightly toasted and remove from heat (preferably in a bowl covered with a paper towel).

Rinse skillet. Next, fry carrots/green bell pepper mix with Oregano (in light vegetable oil) until a toasted wear is apparent. While still cooking, separate the carrots and bell peppers. Remove from heat in desired 'piles'. Cover with a paper towel.

Rinse skillet. Drain steak pieces and heat with lemon pepper seasoning until desired finish is acquired. Remove from heat and cover with a paper towel.

To serve: dish up as you please.
