Pokeball: a key item trainers use for catching and storing Pokemon. Storing Pokemon inside a ball allows them to journey long distances without having their Pokemon wander carelessly.

Pokeballs consist of a metal shell, a release button, and a locking bar. The Pokeball is about the same size of an orange: 2.5" diameter, 7.85" circumference. They weigh approximately 5.53 ounces. Pokeballs are able to shrink to the size of golf balls for more convenient travelling and storing by tapping the release button.

The inside consists of the following: copper pins, reflecting glass plates, and a central energy source lens that is used as the focal point of in-taking the Pokemon's energy. Light energy is used to store and contain Pokemon while inside the Pokeball. The light energy is refracted against a series of glass and, thus, preserving the energy state of the contained Pokemon. Pokeballs act as a suspension state for Pokemon; regardless of size and mass, Pokeballs can store any form of a Pokemon.

Modern Pokeballs are made companies such as the Silph Co. and Devon Corp. Pokeballs are all the same size -regardless of how many different kinds are created- to serve different purposes. Depending on the type, a Pokeball may release a Pokemon in different colors; a Premier Ball releases a Pokemon in a puff of white rays and orbs, and a Net Ball releases a Pokemon with a little animated net. There are currently 26 types of Pokeballs, and seven of those are made from apricorns.

Apricorn Pokeballs are carved from Apricorns and are recrafted with similar locking-release mechanisms and an inserted energy capturing and storing system. The Apricorn Pokeballs are designed to work in different ways. In example, a Red Apricorn can be crafted into a level ball for catching lower-leveled Pokemon whereas a Black Apricorn can be carved into Heavy Balls for catching heavier-weighted Pokemon more easily. In digression, Apricorns have been known to be blended and served as juice for Pokeathlon competitions at the Pokeathlon Dome north of Goldenrod City, Johto.

With each new generation, more Pokeballs are created for various regional means. To catch 'em all would be quite the long, yet memorable, add-on detail for any Pokemon Trainer's adventures.
