PICK A PHOTO SUBJECT TO CAPTURE

Photography
pstyletto: Something fun, that I've done before.. Within a group, SOMEONE picks a photo subject and we all have 1 full week to capture and share the image here. This allows us to share different ideas on editing, angles, lighting etc. Subjects can be anything from a bridge, old cars, gas pumps, butterflies..... Anything

pstyletto: Hey Sno... lets get a few more people involved before we start. Im kinda new to Wireclub so maybe I posted this in the wrong spot. Advise if you know otherwise. And you'll need to be more specific with nature.. trees, streams, animals... etc. Nature is too open

Loup_: At the local exhibition the challenge for the photographers was "silhouette or shadow." We had to come up with a few images of either one that suited us. I chose a few shots that played with shadow.

In general I like nature more than I like people; people don't ever sit still!

Brianni Nicole: Canon or Nikon (or one of the other manufacturers), is simply a matter of personal choice. Pick up a good book on digital photography and it will provide some guidelines for the type of equipment and features you will need. You don't have to spend a lot of money to get started. You should be able to buy a camera outfit for less than $300.00.

For example, I started out with a Nikon back in 35mm days. My first digital camera was a Canon EOS 50d. I think I paid somewhere around $1,500.00. It is a VERY good camera for beginners or advanced-level photographers. It has subsequently been upgraded and the new model is the Canon EOS 60d. A Canon 60d will set you back about $2,000.00.

I use a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III and my backup camera is a Canon EOS 7D. Like any hobby, the sky is the limit as far as purchasing equipment. I'm sure you would never need, nor want to spend what I have for equipment, but the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III body cost me about $6,500.
