Best War Movies ever (Page 4) Lora123: I have seen Papillion. This, from Wikipedia: Plot summary Henri Charriere befriends fellow convict, Louis Dega, while serving a sentence on Devil's Island (a hellish, notorious island prison). He plots his escape. The petty criminal known as Papillon is unjustly convicted of murder (specifically, murdering a pimp) in the 1930s and sentenced to life imprisonment in a French penitentiary on Devil's Island in French Guiana. He attempts several escapes, which result in many punishments, but after more than a decade (at least seven years of which were spent in solitary confinement as punishment for his escape attempts), he eventually succeeds in escaping to freedom. Frija: I'd like to put my two cents in, if I may. There was a German war flick I watched a while ago made in the 90's called Stalingrad, from the point of view of some German soldiers in WWII. It was really well made and really intense and super depressing, and it's probably my favorite war movie so far. I highly recommend it. =) scifilover: Brave heart is good but it might be too young for the topic. I liked platoon and saving private Ryan and red dawn. What about star wars? scifilover: Thanks for agreeing! Gotta love braveheart!! That fight scene with all those people was amazing. | Movies Chat Room Similar Conversations |
