Twilight Discussion Questions

StolenHeart: In the back of Twilight are some discussion questions. I thought maybe we could talk about them as a group...
#1- Is the fact that Edward can't read Bella's thoughts more important than it seems? Do you think it will serve a larger purpose?

lian4ix: Well, of course. Edward can read every other person (human and non-human) minds, and when he reads Bella's mind, it tells that she is special for him. She may not be special for everyone, but just for him.

StolenHeart: is he eventually able to read her mind? I'm still reading twilight, and so far, he is unable too. I think maybe thats how he knows she is the one, because she is the only one who's mind he can't get into. Makes her more interesting to him perhaps, like a mystery.

lian4ix: Yes! It makes Edward feel what all mens - human or non-human - feels when they are falling in love. Then they all the time are guessing what is SHE thinking, do I like her the same way as she likes me, etc. Do U know what I mean?
Yes, and I likes your theory that this is because they are one They really are, a perfect couple
P.S. You haven't read all Twilight saga books yet?

StolenHeart: i do know what you mean. And no, sadly I havent read them all. I've been focusing more on writing than reading lately. But I plan on making a dent in them soon. I can't wait for New Moon to come out in theaters, just a couple more weeks

StolenHeart: I write all kinds of stuff, short stories mostly, but also poetry, and childrens stories

lian4ix: So you read Twilight more like for inspiration, not just because you are one of "OME" girls, huh? Thats great !!

StolenHeart: not really inspiration, just wanted to see what its all about. And I like to finish what i start. I'm enjoying it though

StolenHeart: I dont let anyone read my work, not until I send it to a publisher or get a copyright, sorry... I share only a few things, you can see a sample of one of my short stories in my blog. It's in august's archive, titled a tiny excert from one of my latest short stories...

StolenHeart: Question 2- Bella faints at the smell of blood. If she were to become a vampire, how might this serve as a hindrance? How might it be an asset?

lian4ix: Well, she could smell victim faster than other vampires, but I don't thins she would pass out as a vampire Vampires don't pass out, because they can't! Well, in Stephanies books at least

StolenHeart: you have a point, but lets say we are just basing it on how she is in Twilight, no other assumptions. I think it would be a hindrance in she would be sickly and weak, because she wouldnt be able to eat properly, but an asset because other people would be safe around her.

lian4ix: Yes, but.. she faints, smelling blood, when she is a HUMAN. HUMANS don't need blood to live (I mean - don't need to drink or eat them), humans need food and water. But VAMPIRES do need blood, this is their food. So if Bella faints from blood when she is human, then she could pass out from smelling just cooked pica as a vampire.

StolenHeart: Ok, I get what you're saying now. It would be nice if we had more people participating, but, this is nice. On to question 3...
Is Edward selfishly putting Bella in danger or is Bella being too stubborn for her own good? Is it a little bit of both? What are the threatening factors facing Bella and are there ways to avoid them?

lian4ix: Edward would never put Bella in danger, if he can avoid it. But Bella is really stubborn, she don't cares about herself, all she cares about is Edward. And if she thinks she can do good for him, putting herself in danger, she would. The same about Edward. They both are so selfless, and both of them care more about the other than per se.

When it comes to true love, sacrifices have to be made. I agree with what you said. And, I think their love for one another is what keeps Bella safe, because Edward doesnt want to hurt her, he strives to not. That's selfless when you think about it, because he does have a thirst for her blood. His motives are pure, he just wants to love her. Same with Bella and her feelings towards Edward. She doesnt care that he could hurt her if he truly wanted to, because she loves him so much.
