favorite DEATH METAL BANDS (Page 2) longpigchef: And you think Metallica is better? I guess to each their own. I havent like any new metal in a long time. Fog Swept Glade: Not really. They‘re tied. Metallica just tend to be looked at as being proto Death Metal. So, Slayer and Satyricon and alot after Metallica is seen as being fraud. What did Metallica do to Anthrax? (Edited by Fog Swept Glade) longpigchef: Oh damn... They formed at pretty much the same time. I retract my previous statement. Me personally, I thought 'and Justice for all' was the last thing Metallica did that was worth a damn Fog Swept Glade: Anthrax are from 81 also. Anvil are not. Early D.M. would be Entombed, Possessed and the things that make Obituary tick is my guess. Grave and Death and that stuff count if it surfaced last week. I like the Deicide, Drawn and Quartered kind of Thrashy side of that crap. Morbid Angel is amazing kind of creepy like maniquins having sex. longpigchef:
Cannibal corpse, decide, obituary, cattle decapitation.... Those are the bands that do it for me. I don't care much for 'job for a cowboy, Lamb of god, or any of that other newer stuff. Cannibal corpse 'the bleeding' is my favorire death metal album.... To this day I can listen to the entire album like it just came out. hey you are pretty cool. I'm sending you a friend request.
Fog Swept Glade: Obituary after World Demise doesn‘t make my crank float. World Demise is somebody‘s nu metal too. You can tell by the drums on Kill for Me. Billie Ingle: Ingested, Infant annihilator, Parasite Inc, Lamb of God, Devil Driver, Kalmah, Satyricon, Necronomicon, Necrophobic, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, AngelMaker, Rotting Christ, Burn The Priest, Amon Amarth, Wintersun, Goatwhore, Shadow Of Intent, Behemoth, Arcanorum Astrum and not to forget Aurora Black Fog Swept Glade: 5 great bands mentioned and a CD that I was made to take for a pose down purchased after Obsecration‘s The Inheritors of Pain, and that Black Witchery, Hidden and the like. Great. Um, Vital Remains has both popular and underground cred as do Deicide. See, takes some Thrash to cut that cheese. Wintersun were particularly pivotal to me at some point when building a playlist around C.O.B., Blackgaurd and that stuff. We know because of Drowners at Bodom lake that Trans Siberian Orchestra are Power Metal. They may have felt even more empowered to have taken that genre due to Iron Maiden‘s stagnancy in their childhood. They likely enjoy poached fish and odor from travel.
