WHO'S YOUR FAVOURITE DRUMMER (Page 10) freomonz: Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan (Avenged Sevenfold), Michael Thomas (Bullet for my valentine) Just love the beats they come up with. Makes me wish I was was one myself italian3339: Everyone’s choices are great but limited to household names. The really drum masters of the world are the guys that are on hundreds of records that most music fans may not know of. Guys like Russ Miller, Steve Gadd, Kenny, Arnoff, Steve Ferrone, Dave Weckl, Gavin Harrison. These guys are monsters on the kit. Unreal players. Mike Mangini is another that is just off the charts. Pot Head Pixies: My favorite drummers (in no particular order): Mitch Mitchell, Ginger Baker, Bill Bruford, Carl Palmer, B.J. Wilson, Clive Bunker, Max Roach, Sunny Murray, Jim Fox, Dino Danelli, Ed Blackwell, Elvin Jones, Dannie Richmond, Hamid Drake, Famoudou Don Moye Pot Head Pixies: Yes he was very good, but I prefer early Mothers Billy Mundi for Zappa drummers. I did omit Keith Moon and probably a few others that I will think of after I post this. Pot Head Pixies: I started a room called Record Collectors Unite if you ever want to drop in and chat music some time. Pot Head Pixies: Anyone who reads these posts is welcome to come visit Record Collectors Unite to chat old music, records and concerts, usually late at night. Mike is in Dream Theatre, and he sure does sound like Rush's Neil Peart Here's some backstory on Portney, he was and is very influenced by Peart, being a big Rush fan. He even has the massive Jukketing drum set going. Check him out! | Music Chat Room 15 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
