what is ur Fav 80's music icon Rachie25: i think my absoulte Favoret 80's icon is Joan Jett. i love her old stuff and have u heard her newest stuff ?! its realy awsome lol well... let me know what ya think ! - Thanks _ Rachel ;o) carbon13: Joan rocks, I don't think I could pick a favorite artist, but I sure love Men Without Hats "Safety Dance!" onami: You're both so young, what do you know about the 80s? There was the Boss, Bruce Springsteen. that'it. Apart some good albums like "black celebration" from depeche mode, "diamond life" from Sade, "our favorite shops" from stile council, and all those greatest like B.B. King and SRV. Rachie25: well ... u dont have to be an adult at that time to apreciate the 80's music know. and i also love BB king also miles davis ! now miles davis was a true musical visionary. onami: He truely was. Sorry, I was just saying that some artists were ahead and some others, just following the flow. And, certainly, I forgot to mension WAR from U2. Anyway, you seem to be really OK, rachie25. onami: Anyway... miles davis had something in common with bb, he was totally open minded about music, but don't forget that we're talking about the 80s. at least, that was the subject when we started. I just noticed that, apart joan jett, which I don't recognize as a 80's big one, no woman I used really like. OK, there were some strong personality, like chrissie hynde and madonna, but they did not give theys best shots in that decade. Like, for instance, one of my favorites: patty smith. Rachie25: wow. no i didnt 4get that we are talking about the 80's, cus i started it. and no she wasnt really 'big" in the 80's but i still love her stuff. she had shit 2 say and wasnt afraid to say it, even when record lables turned her down. onami: Anyway I wasn't quite an adult in the 80s, even if older then you. I just remember may sony walkman being with me all the time, anywhere. But, what about the 70s? who was the icon? onami: Oh please!!! Pat Benatar the best of 80s produced? That's a good joke. At least I hope you were joking. onami: sultan off swing from dire straits in 1974 was amazing! But in the 80s... they just produced "second hand" music. blonde goddess: the smiths, eurythmics, alison moyet, depech mode god the list would be never ending | Music Chat Room 26 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
