devours: Jimi Hendrix above all others, cannot be duplicated, barely can be imitated. After that, a few stand out: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Gary Moore (before his blues period, Corridors of Power album, tracks like End of the World, his cover of Shapes of Things - ridiculously good solo, Victims of the Future - slow, moody, melodic then shreds) Gary Moore is the most underrratred guitarist ever, and of course Eddie Van Halen, Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoads. I didn't read all the comments here, but I didn't see anyone mentioning Randy Rhoads or Gary Moore. Surprised - Rhoads had short career due to tragic death, but listen to Speak of the Devil and tell yourself he doesn't rank up there with the best.
