jazzcat67: In terms of soaring ability in the face of maturing age you've got to give it up for Eric Clapton. He's still just as powerful as he was 40 years ago, what a sound.

I love David Gilmour but he's been remarkably silent the past decade. He did that one surprise gig with Roger Waters when he took his tour to London and he killed "Comfortably Numb" to prove he's still got it. I just wish he let us all hear it more often. Such a distinctive sound.

Is no one else thinking Stevie Ray Vaughan should be on everyone's list. He's on mine.

Summer and: david gilmour has made a great album on an island in which there are some guitar solos wonderfuk and he made some great live concerts..Mark Knopfler has published great albums these last years in which all his guitar talent is expressed.
