God!!!

Philosophy and Spirituality
kalembo: Here is a nice, interesting and controvesial subject for us to discuss: GOD!!! Does he/she/it really exist? Or is it just a human creation to fill the gap that some big questions leave us? We'll keep expanding it while we discuss it. There is only one rule: Lets be OBJECTIVE and most importantly OPEN-MINDED!!!

dweeb: Words are only signposts. What one person calls god another might call self actualization, higher state of conciousness, allah....There are lots of different names for that something out there and just as many ways to reach it. Different ways suit different people and there is no right or wrong way...but yeah, there is definitely something out there.

Darkconis: @tinkerbellian There is a name for such a belief, it's called pantheism. A lot of famous people were pantheists, the most notable was einstein. Which is why he loved physics, because as he said "He wanted to read the mind of God". And from the pantheistic point of view, that's exactly what physics tries to do.

Darkconis: By the way, lets try to refrain from the creationist arguments please. They have been dealt with by other theists long ago. The universe is far from perfect. If I was to teleport you somewhere randomly in the universe, do you think you would survive? There are so many things out there that could possibly wipe us out tomorrow. From an asteroid to a gamma ray burst, or a near by super or hyper nova. Even if none of those things happen, in five billion years from now, our sun will become a red giant. Even if we manage to some how avoid that, the Andromeda galaxy is on a collision course with the milky way. And one of two things will happen, our solar system will pass the event horizon our of super massive black hole. Or we will be flung out of the galaxy itself.

KEELE I: What if in 3-4 billion years time, the MilkyWay- Andromeda Galaxy collision doesn't take place as humans have predicted. We can't even predict the weather 100% of time lol

I still use the word God, but I like to look at God as the very fabric of the multiverse. It's vibrations are it's creations. I like to think that a particular function of God is Consciousness.

Whose to say that we are not just the microcosm to a living organism that is infinitely larger, and that one a microcosm to its macrocosm?

KEELE I
KEELE I: Smoke
Darkonis and myself have a passion for understanding what is beyond mainstream ideology. It happens naturally within us that we should be engaged by a particular interest and then exhaust our interest through research, practical application and logical reasoning . We Try to understand that which others have not given a lot of thought to, because we realize there is more to the story than that which is being told. Our insatiable curiosity will not be settled easily by previous paradigms, systems, or beliefs.
We realize we can use these to create a better system for all of us that are all inclusive and are adaptive enough to evolve along with everything else.
Its impossible for some of us to simply settle on any one ideology, Especially after learning about the history of set ideology or philosophy. The more you look into things the more interconnected things become, it is an endless tree or web of knowledge that is ever expanding. Rabbit holes are increasingly deep, but those who travel down them are often changed when they emerge and no longer think, behave and in some cases look like the average person. It does not satisfy many truth seekers to simply be told this is right and this is wrong, but rather to discover and travel the road of right and wrong by one's self. To learn from yourself is really the most natural way, this is how we and all other creatures begin life.

No one teaches us anything, We must teach ourselves through our level of understanding. Someone shows you a thing, but you will not know that thing until you have understood it. Realize that how you understand that something is then mutated from the original practice or understanding.

Much of the world's population has settled on the paradigms of that which they are born into and follow it blindly without ever questioning or understanding these paradigms. It is not wrong to question any ideology or practice if it means that your understanding will increase.

Religious systems are a very narrow path of understanding, and in most cases, A False Understanding. But there is nothing wrong with taking the narrow path if that is what you choose, you may get along just fine being told what to think and what to believe.

For some of us, the trial and error testing and investigation of paradigms, ideologies and systems has brought us to a place where it is no longer possible to simply be told.

For some of us more consciously engaged individuals.. We keep our eyes and ears open. An honest and open heart and mind~ is our method.
We travel down the road of information collecting bits that we have never seen before and address it logically with our understanding. But of course we all vary greatly when it comes to understanding. If you can not understand the Scientific method then Blinding religious beliefs may be right for you.

There is nothing wrong with putting paradigms or ideologies to the test in order to understand them and carefully decide whether it is Consciously Right to agree and practice them.

You cannot deny what IS, That is probably the most insane thing you can do. and making the choice to not accept what IS based on what someone else has taught you, is probably the second most insane thing you can do.
Insanity is a perfectly reasonable reaction to an insane environment. But for an ever increasing amount of people, our conscious awareness allows us to view this insane environment and its teachings for what it really is (via examination of research and practical application). Using your own consciousness you can develop ethics and understanding.
We need to be aware of our surroundings and see them for what they are, we cannot exist within the parameters of fairy tales. We must continue to test our universe and ourselves to find out a continually increasing range of potentials.

The narrow path is not for everyone, The widened path increases consciousness for us all

smoke4ever: For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us that are saved it is the power of God.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Gentiles seek after wisdom:

But we preach Christ crucified: unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Gentiles foolishness.

KEELE I: Passages in the bible Like this one Im sure provided the justification for such horrors as the inquisition, the brutal murder committed by christians. You know, the times where christians slaughtered civilizations and wiped out cultures. They destroyed and or buried tomes and tomes of invaluable ancient wisdom and historical record.

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring nothing to the understanding of the prudent"

Really the christian practise is an evil one. just ask the vatican they know whats up.

KEELE I: I'll bet you didn't watch or even try to understand that whole 10min video. Im not sure which guy you were speaking of because there were many speakers in that video.
My attempt with this video was to show you that you can expand your golf ball sized consciousness.
For revolutionary science and spiritual practice is paving the way for a new science ~The science of our spirituality.

On one hand I think its great that you have such faith in your beliefs, i think its wonderful that you would defend and stand up for your values. On the other hand i think its ridiculous to surround yourself with your beliefs to protect you from the vastness of incredible knowledge that exists all around you, should you attempt to wake from your dream and expand your consciousness. An ever expanding consciousness is the birthright of every living thing. and consciousness, although mysterious, is very real. through your wakefulness and careful observation you can learn a great many things.

So where did you first learn about the bible and when did you first start receiving its message?

smoke4ever: I first learned about the bible when I was like 3 or 4, but I didnt read it until I was 23, an awesome man of God named Gene Scott got me interested in what was really in it and what it really says. So I looked, and I started reading it and it wasnt what I expected.
By reading it I learned that most church's nowadays are subtley preaching another gospel that adds to God's work on the cross.
When I "had" to go to church when I was a kid to about 14 (every now & then, maybe 5 times a year at the most) and then when I got older and I didnt have to go i never went again. Mostly because I couldnt stand the singing and askin for donations or doing fake miracles! You have to wonder how Satan has gotten into alot of so-called christian church's nowadays.
Remember The Devil is very subtle.
