God!!! (Page 2)

__Namaste
__Namaste: God's vastness and capabilities are not limited to the words in the Bible. The words are simply arrows to point to God. It is up to us to internalize them and get to know God. It is only in knowing Him that we can share His intimate Spirit.

MaThinker (M.T.)
MaThinker (M.T.): God is not a theory of cosmic proportions to think and reflect about endlessly. The relevant question is: Do you know that God, in personal contact and experience? I am done with theories of Cosmic magnitude and imaginative gropings. Much as we might be seduced by the thought that we could "expand" in consciousness, the only 'consciousness' gained after a life time of reading, thinking and 'transcendental', 'mystical' meditations is just a bigger more grandiose conception of the magnitude or stupendousness of God. I had been into all these meditations and met countless practitioners of these disciplines, but none have been able to HONESTLY, HUMBLY recount such 'cosmic realisations' or 'expanded consciousness'. The others who have claimed or had tacitly led others on to believe that they had, invariably were not humble nor was veracity one of their qualities or virtues. God is real to me, and helps me to live my life, He responds to my prayers, and gets bad situations changed into better ones. That is God, to me, I dont have to hope for unlimited consciousness while i am yet in this puny body of limited brain cells, the magnitude of the universe is beyond the farthest reaches of the imagination of mankind. For me, God is not conjecture but reality, a bliss Source and a Kind benevolent Presence/Intelligence who is able in His vastness, to relate to me, a limited being. I am Christian.

KEELE I
KEELE I: The Answer is Yes! I have come to know God in a very personal way, and in my direct conscious experience.

You are completely negating the fact that: your entire Existence is, the result of your consciousness... Believe it! Of course God responds to your prayers, I hope you don't think that it only works for Christians.. Do you ?. You certainly don't need a bible or a church to realize God in your life.
I can assure you everyone has given to you their realizations, you probably weren't listening or didn't want to.
Conscious awareness is how you communicate with God and how you feel its powerful vibration and Love of light. You can expand your consciousness and it seems to be increasing quite rapidly and assembling like a revolutionary movement.
Im not a practicing christian but the presence of God is always with me. Deep levels of meditation and contemplation have given rise to it. but Basic science has proved God for me. examples of an intelligent Creative force is really quite obvious. Sacred Geometry is not just esoteric symbols drawn by people, they are a far greater tangible evidence in nature and mathematics, those two fields alone give you incredible insight into the vast intelligent consciousness that God is. For God IS Consciousness, that which is the very fabric of the Multiverse. ripples in a pond (cymatics) are its. voice and physical touch. It is the Vibrations of the Superstring that are its expressions.

MaThinker (M.T.): Well then, Keene, it is very good you have some conscious experience of God. For me, theories of the nature of God sound very good, but they are only ideas, our thoughts of it. Beautiful theories of String Theory, never mind if Einstein or some other advanced brain said - they are still only human, with human consciousness and limitations. I am not new or inexperienced about the thinking that you have expressed. In fact i was very much in the grip of those before. Anyway this is a friendly exchange, and i wish you and others well in knowing God. I too had done meditations and contemplations of various disciplines before.

smoke4ever: im not interested keele, I've tripped many times so I know EXACTLY what it's like. It opens up doors of deception, not depths of reality.
Psychadelics do give you a life-changing type of experience because it alters your whole life for 12 hours or more. I still think about my trips lol.

pugcasso: Here are some of my points...

"God" is a word ... a noun and therefore due to the limits of language, it becomes a "thing" or "object".

The human thinking is based on language. Language can be very different between cultures (just go look at the various translations into Engish of the Tao Te Ching to see how hard that is to translate into English). So as the Tao Te Ching starts out stressing, the language of humans is what breaks up Reality in the thoughts and then we are habitually convinced that this 'matrix of images' of Reality we have boxed up and labelled is really real Reality (but it is just our particular culture or species image of the full vast Reality beyond the scope of mere human attempts at putting in "thought boxes" in the head). So we can go around with our red tinted glasses on and tell someone else the sky is red and if they had learned another religion that passed out green tinted glasses, they will argue that it is green. But it is both red and green and much more.

Imagine certain humans having incredible states of experience where they totally felt they were truly integrated into the whole Reality and not as this seemingly separate little person. These people could be said to have had 'union with the Brahman', achieved Moksha, achieved enlightenment, had Cosmic Consciousness, or even (what I feel ) say something like "I and the Father are One" (if their culture suggested that the representative image of Absolute Reality is a Sky Father.

The idea of "God" as being a "Heavenly Father" is not correct as that implies an unbalanced dualism as opposed to a combined Oneness (non-duality where both sides of duality merge) of not just Maleness (but maleness and femaleness or both sides of duality combined). The "Sky Father" concept was originally part of the typical template where the Earth was seen as the Earth Mother Goddess (Gaia for example) while the Male God was associated with the sky (Ouranus, the son and then husband of Gaia - and that name relates to rain as it does to words 'urinate', urethra' and others). The Earth as symbolized as a Mother is pretty straight-forward as the association with life growing from the Earth and coming from mothers (human and other creatures) seemed obvious. It's merely a fashion of current civilization (for the last many thousands of years) that has barred femaleness from being part of their favoured symbol for "God".

The 'non-duality' or merging of duality can be symbolized by the joining of the Moon and Sun (Female and Male)

So the first step is to realize that you are wearing culturally-imposed coloured glasses and attempt to remove them to see more clearly ... or at least realise that you are wearing them.

*******-*******--------

But in the end, because the human thinking is based on language , the idea that we can "describe" the Ultimate Reality doesn't seem to be possible to me. Even describing with text the taste of an apple can't really be done until you actually taste the apple (you could write endless volumes about that and it's all just using comparisons to try to get the unexperienced non-apple taster to know what you mean.

And so, it seems that the only way to know (or "Gnow" as in Gnossis) "God" is to experience non-duality like those mystics, prophets, some burnt heretics, buddhas felt (still working on that)

The latinesque names for the Christian "God" are based from the Vedic Sky Father god while the Earth Mother goddess has been forgotten (although in Roman Catholic symbolism , Mary unofficially has this role)

Dyaus Pita (Vedic) lead to Zeus to Jupiter (Ju +Pater, "pater = father as in 'paternity' which is also the latin esque languages basis for their image words for "God" .... Dio, Dios, Dei, Dieu, etc)

*******-*******------

And so my first major annoyance with Abrahemic religions is their insistance on labelling "God" with male terms and characteristics. I feel this is biased and false and very outdated.
