dana71: I have been in Rio de Janeiro and Manaus a year ago. The only thing that i knew before i was there were the Carnaval in Rio and Oscar Niemeyer. I was overwhelmed by the hospitality of the brazilians, the landscapes, the joy of life even they live as hard as my people ( who are conplaining pretty much). I loved the architecture, the culture. The food!! Oh my God!Manaus remained in my heart! We visited a house of a peasant: Safira , very nice old woman, living on the shore of Rio Negro. In just one word: Amazing
