A word that is used to describe a person who does not believe in religion, or who adheres to either a false, or a religion other than one's own. It seems that the confused ones are the very people using the word, as they can't seem to decide who it applies to. From the point of view of one of those silly "Ali Baba and the forty thieves" Muslim characters, chanting their mantra of "Off with their heads" taken straight from Alice in Wonderland's Red Queen, to all those who offend them....an infidel is a Christian, or any number of other people who don't worship their cave-dwelling, pedophile prophet, who understandably doesn't want his face shown. And just as self-centered as Alice's Red Queen was, everything they see seems to anger them. From the point of view of the Christian groupies, an infidel is any one who doesn't worship the bastard child of Mary, who found a hard time making it as a carpenter after more modern building materials gained popularity in the construction business, and decided to make the career jump to Jehovah's public relations guy, and part-time, water-walking magician. Now, to answer the thread topic question. To be perfectly honest, my opinion isn't any more valid than a so called "infidel" but I am fairly sure of one thing... If ever the C.E.O.s of the differing religions get past their territorial squabbling and figure out the money to be made from a merger, instead of all these failed hostile takeovers, the stockholders are gonna get rich.  $$$$ (Edited by calybonos) h0nd0: to my knowledge an infidel is any number of tribes who dont believe in a single one and only God for the whole land.. and that means in every corner of the world.. he can have different names .. this God.. not apollo, not thor, not ramesis, nor rai.. but the God of abraham.. all other Gods.. are Gods of infidels.. to my knowledge a cattle God or a krishna are killers that they make you think you can go into a God like state as Rama krishna.. but, the God of Christians.. or the hebrew God of moses and abraham gave life and a prophecy .. to the world.. as the true God of it.. Jesus was not a bastard.. he was conceived its a well known discussion.. his mother .. Mary would not take away from the universality of redemption through jesus.. and WHAT? the maker of all things GOD can`t have a child if he can make a world?.. or create such a place or such a person known as an adamite.. the point is.. A volcano god that was real; yes that would be something to take note of. As it is, you are no different to the Masai. A believer in primative superstition. In the modern world, that is truly mad. h0nd0: why dont you stop making posts.. in every God issued forum.. if you dont believe?.i have seen the works of God first hand.. like when my boat turned in the middle of the ocean from a prayer and came exactly back to my position on my daughters birthday.? or the time i had no money and went fishing when there was no fish because my wife was going to leave me.. and i caught fish by talking to a fisherman who saw one fish a mile away.. as i looked back at him going in that direction.. his boat was named the same name as my wife.. by a miracle i caught several huge fish.. another miracle? .. or when i got hit by a car and flew 36 feet in the air and landed on my feet.. running.. with no marks or injuries.. or when i fell off a cliff 100 ft tumbling and stopped in a cattail plant .. with no injury.. ive got many more stories of my beliefs in God.. if you need some.. you;; have to change you awareness and admit you seek him.. ghostgeek: Why are you bothered if I make posts or not? It is an erupting volcano, a connection many people have made, not just me. Moses and the Israelites did not commune with God. h0nd0: there`s no evidence that the volcanic mountain you posted here proves anything.. it was named after a Bos taurus ghostgeek: Ever heard of Occam's Razor? If you have two explanations for a certain phenomenon, all other things being equal, choose the simplest. That is what I do. There are about fifty volcanic eruptions a year on this planet of ours. That means there is nothing unusual about them. God, on the other hand, has no objective evidence supporting His existence. So God appearing to one small group of people, just once, would be a most exterordinary occurance. Therefore the rational choice would be to explain the Biblical account as being due to a volcano.
