What are your Top 3 Dog Breeds? (Page 3) iceprincess_lp: Mine would have to be Labs 1st, Goldens 2nd, and Toy Aussie shepherd 3rd. Im a bit biased on the Toy Aussie however as mine is Mommys baby, lol GIRLGONE123: I also like the the designer breeds like labradoodles jackapoos chugs which are a breed crossed with a chi hua hua and pug and also cockerpoos (Edited by GIRLGONE123) badweb: 1. Weimaraner. Smart and attentive. Great hunting dogs. 2. German Shorthair. Energetic and determined. Also great bird dogs. 3. German Shepherd. Great companions and protectors. Devoted and protective. freedomfirst1797: Every breed can be "great for someone" so it really comes down to personal preferences for size, weight, personality of the dog, and your lifestyle choices. After all, if it was for these things there would not be 300 breeds.... there would just be one (some sort of feral wolf.) But since I have the space for it, I pretty much like large dogs, or at least medium sized dogs. Because I find the tiny ones too high strung, too noisy, and too annoying. But those little yippers can still be wonderful pets for other people. In my own case, I love dogs that are friendly, loyal, affectionate, smart, and reasonably healthy. I guess I don't really need a watchdog, so I prefer a less aggressive and more laid back dog. I just described "every dog that exists" so I need to be more specific. As much as I love breeds like Newfoundland Retrievers and St. Bernards, I am too old to own one now. Because I need a dog I can pick up and carry to the vet if necessary. So here are my top three breeds and I have owned all of them: 1. Golden Retriever (the ideal family dog) 2. English Springer Spaniel (Loyal, affectionate, and smart) 3. Labrador Retriever (the perfect all around dog) I have also owned some other great breeds, including Border Collies, and German Short Haired Pointers, and would gladly adopt an Australian Shepherd, Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, or Great Pyrenees. Dogs are incredible and wonderful creatures. The more you love them, the more they love you back. You just need to make sure you get one that matches your own personality and lifestyle. Actually I,m partial to the smaller "toy" dogs like pomeranians , Pekingese and lately a Chihuah .! | Animals Chat Room 6 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
