Do pets love us or are we fooled into thinking they love us? guy54: All living things need love and attention from other living things. In the case of humans they misunderstand anything that they like or get as love. If they get money,gifts,food or sex free or with minimal pay from someone they think the person likes them and they feel satisfied. Same with pets. When a dog licks us, we think it likes us. When a cat chooses our bed to sleep, we think it likes us. But is not the reality that they are only nice to us because we feed them and give them shelter? The same pets wouldnt hesitate to eat our body parts if it was lying on the ground. If your claim was correct then no pet would risk its life to try to save its masters life or travel great distance to return to its family. Both of these phenomenon have been widely reported and documented. Why would a pet do these things when it could more easily just find another meal ticket. Dogs and cats do go feral when they have to start foraging and hunting for their own food so why would a dog or cat take such risk as to travel great distance to go back to its previous family. If your point were true then they would not. Either they would latch onto another potential owner or forage and hunt on their own. Indie_dad: Dogs and cats are capable of love and hate. Our cat loves my wife and I but hates our son.Him and his ex had her and then left her with us due to not being able to have her where they moved into.
