MysticRivers: there are so many good vamp series the twilight saga the books not the movies ann rice novels are great same with L.J smith vampire diaries if u like the tv show you'll like the books although they are nothing alike sherilyn kenyon dark hunter series is awesome plus she has dream and were hunter books that are good vampire kisses series and vamp academy r also good seems these days you can walk into a book store ask for vampire books and get shelf upon shelf of them unlike a couple years ago

Lexx_f_20: I definitely agree, like most, with Anne Rice. Her novels are wonderful. Stephen King's 'Salem's Lots is also a really good one, but I love anything by him.

As for Twilight, it's about Edward and Bella's relationship more than anything else. I would never consider those vampire novels... they're more teen romance novels that happen to have "vampires" in them.

ScuttleButt: For me, Dracula and Salem's Lot are my favourite. I really enjoyed the Anita Blake series up until Obsidian Butterfly, after that they get a bit to smutty for my taste (really dislike what was done to the character after that) and gave up about 3 books after that. Also really enjoyed the True Blood series but if you want an awesome vampire style book, try The Passage by Justin Cronin.. great read.

As for the twilight series, not being a hater here but pass me a gun right now, not a fan.
