allusion247: I am currently re-reading and teaching Frankenstein to my seniors. They "read" it in 9th, but all they got was the plot (and most didn't even get that!). It is a totally different read now. LOVE this book. So many relevant themes that people can really connect to life today. Anyone else love this book?

For personal self, I recently picked up a YA novel Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.

uglycow10: It's actually great to see that a lot of people are still reading. It is so easy to identify people amongst us who read a lot. They are the ones who can have a sensible conversation without sounding like a nitwit, where every, other word is, "like" ! Whenever I hear "like", I always expect to hear it followed by an "object".and "an extension" (silly me)
I am no scholar, but it is just rudimentary grammar that I recall from grade one....subject, verb, predicate & object.,that constitutes the standard construction for a sentence.
We Americans and our foreign counterparts need to knock it off with the inappropriate, "over-use" of, "like", and return to using proper grammar..

peace...
