GreaseMonkey: This conversation just refuses to stop being hysterical!

Most of you have no idea wtf you're talking about and when you do miraculously make an intelligent statement, you follow that up with something beyond ignorant.

I like the guy who refuses to buy domestic b/c they're built with foreign parts. What the hell do you think foreign cars are built with? Parts that were mined from the Earth?

•ALL• car companies are Global. They design things in the home Country and have parts made globally. They have assemblies produced globally, & they have final assembly all over the world.

And who the hell cares if the UAW guys are lazy or not? They might be, I don't know, but at least they have a job! Thar keeps them out of the fucking welfare office.

Everybody on this thread needs to do some fucking research. :-)

GreaseMonkey: Oh, pjt: didja find that Dodge pic?

I like the beer tap shift but I have a better idear: Me & a buddy want to build a Rat Rod using a beer theme. We're gonna use the flush handle from a Urinal for the shifter & melted-flat beer bottles for inner door handles. -No outside door handles cause it's a Rat Rod.

GreaseMonkey: IDK about me being cool. I just found it to be fucking hilarious when that guy told ppl to do research when I know for a fact that he's wrong to.

At the risk of sounding like a know-it-all, pompous, arrogant, egotistical, prideful jackass, *I* actually happen to know a hell of a lot about the automotive industry. I work as a professional mechanic. (Technicians are jackasses in white lab coats & penny loafers with pocket protectors and a slide rule who run around on Marble-Floored shops and that refuse to touch a car that hasn't been steam cleaned enough to embarrass a hospital's cleanliness.)

My earliest memories are of my dad teaching me how to turn a wrench "Righty tighty, lefty loosey". Cars are beyond a Hobby, passion, career, or a way of life. Hell, for me, cars are beyond a Religion.

For that reason, I make it a point to find those aspects of the automotive industry which spark my interest. Then I go out and learn them. I don't just sit there blindly behind a keyboard researching, I read magazines, watch videos, and most importantly, I talk to people. Or rather, I ask questions and listen to the answers carefully.

Once you can fully understand the basic concepts, you can dig into the more and more advanced. And once you understand that, it becomes much easier to:

Predict trends
Comprehend what's happening
Comprehend why it's happening
And of course, learn how to make repairs.

Cane1lou305: Doesn't matter what type of truck each owner has. They will be driving a lot in their trucks and need all the safety they can harness.

You need to be protected and covered if you're driving and your vehicle breaks down, or you get a flat tire. I know you've probably heard of Triple A. I work for its competition, Motor Club of America and its been going since 1926. It has a lot more benefits than AAA, unlimited jump starts, towings, and tire flat repairs! Have peace of mind when you're on the road!
I invite you, and all on this thread as well, to copy and paste the following link and join today for only $19.95 a month.....remember peace of mind when on the road!

Indie_dad: I've had several trucks over the years. '71 Chev 1/2 ton, '76 K5 Blazer pickup conversion, '94 Dakota, '02 Dakota, and now a '13 F150. All great for different reasons. If it's reliable and looks good then I'll drive it.
But if could have 1 back then it would probably be the '94 Dakota. Tough as hell and drove like a dream. Lent it to a co-worker to run a load of scrap to the junk yard one day and he came back with the weigh slip showing 3800 lbs of scrap in the box. Dumbass but the truck did the job no problem. It was 12 years old at the time.
Point is, buy the truck that fits your needs and take care of it and it will do it's job. Buy used and let somebody else deal with all the crap from poor assembly or defective parts from new. Then get the best years out of your ride.
