LIFE AFTER A DIVORCE flamingred: Who feels like their life has improved since going through a divorce? And what did u do to get back into the swing of being single ?  Sasquatch1974: It took me a while to start dating after my divorce, as I was not very trusting, I just "went back into my shell" so to speak... I just tried to live my life. My quality of life has improved, I am more cerebral and sarcastic. When I was married I was more of a pushover, easy to manipulate, now I don't take any crap from anyone!! flamingred: Funny, how after years that people finally decide they are not taking any crap from others, guess most of us learn that the hard way  Angry Beaver: Depends on if you left or were left, I found it a struggle when she left me for her childhood sweetheart after 30 years together, only the kids staying with me got me through to the other side and life's beaut now  Motati: I fully agree with you guys. I also took a long time not trusting men. My life is now great, but I think I need a man now. The sad thing is it can be such a beautiful thing to be in love. We (men and women) however can't just get it right. flamingred: even if both are in love, a good marriage takes a lot of work and also fun to keep it fresh , many people or one side of the marriage just are not willing to invest that much so they they end up splitting up when one person finally hit sthe wall and states no more or the person meets someone who they think will meet their needs  Blackshoes: Life is wonderful alone  However: I would trade this wonderful to hold my EXs eyes in a loving embrace for just a moment more  Atlast that will never happen . I really hate to spent the last few years of my life in prison (Edited by Blackshoes) flamingred: ooh , nasty, glad my divorce is going much smoother, we will be better as friends than as a couple flamingred: if I am processing a non-contested divorce is it safe to use a divorce consultant and not a lawyer they are a lot cheaper ? Blackshoes: I have to say ! If I was a women  A lawyer generally gets you a better deal . A divorce consultant also a lot better in every way .. Lawyers are out to screw you and they believe their doing the right thing .. I didn't cave in to her demands when we split (She wanted me to live with her at her parents, she had no desire to leave.
