dvustimmer: yup, I would think it would be. Don't know why we don't get paid as well as some of those material guys. Seriously when you consider doctors who are the general practitioners (which should be the material guys), they have to know something about alot of different things, but they are generally paid less than the orthopedic specialists (which should be the metallurgist). who is some kinda genious at one specific thing. Some how it does not work out that way.

Seriously, aren't most people with the title material engineer really just buyers? There are actually real material engineers, I know that, but the term seems to be thrown around loosely these days. Instead of calling a buyer a buyer, they are now called material engineer. Why can't they call them inventory specialist or something? I'm a bitchy person, I know that, but it's like the garbage man is now officially a sanitation engineer. Oddly enough pay wise, the sanitation engineer seems to be on the same pay scale as the metuallurist. Its a conspiracy!
