U of T to OFFER FREE ONLINE CLASSES marbiie: Professors at Stanford University helped develop the U.S. based company, Coursera to offer free massive open on-line courses and U of T partnered up with them. Anyone sitting in any country around the world with access to a computer can take the course. The COURSES ARE NOT FOR CREDIT and it includes a combo of VIDEO, LECTURES, DISCUSSION GROUPS, QUIZZES AND ASSIGNMENTS. They will be offering the courses sometime in SEPTEMBER. Their plan eventually is to charge for course certificates and facilitate employment with students. Great idea!.......cheers! unicorn1: Hey marbiie, thought ye might like to know that a woman in work is now doing a course on Greek legends and myths, and my sister has enrolled in one (dont know which one yet) that starts in 2013.
