College football begins anew. Does anyone still care about the scandals?

davesdatahut: Today, it began anew. The stadiums filled. The crowds went wild. The great national spectacle of college football resumed. As it did, was there any critical mass of the fan base that cared one bit about the scandals that have made major college sports a national embarrassment and a cancer on our educational system? Or do things go on as usual, with little more than a nod at the problem and a hollow pledge to do something significant about it?
