Are vegetarians plant killers?? (Page 3)
Kaotic_J: There is a whole meat chapter in that book!
Beating your meat, licking the juices off your meat, even tells where you shouldnt stick your meat
DiIIy: Seriously??? Well thats some important steps there. Cant say ive read the book, flicked through it, i know everything anyways Looked good in the bookshelf but
Imperfect_Perfection: In the words of Maynard *this is necessary... life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on LIFE*
Without death there would be no life. Whether your food is conscious or not, it must die in order for you to continue living.
fairgojustsaying: It's simple, it's a choice as what a person will eat, plants rejuvinate by dying in the wild, either lack of water or by fire, is that suicide, sorry bad joke.
Koyx: If we didn't eat plants we would be dead. That being said if animals didn't eat plants, they wouldn't exist. Also if nothing ate plants, plants' population will increase. This would lead to overcrowding and possibly depletion of resources. As a consequence plants would die out. so by eating plants, paradoxically, we're saving them.
fairgojustsaying: True.....because growing them creates oxygen and without that we don't exist, so grow eat and live.
TwistedCharm: Its been shown that eating plants is good for the system and helps it regenerate, however eating animal products degenerates the body. This has been scientifically proven.
Wonderbunny: People eat plants but also propagate them. What do vegans think about killing slugs and caterpillars that try to steal their food? Obviously pesticides are bad, but organic methods of pest control include drowning the little creatures in beer. Would vegans stamp on a lily beetle or allow the pretty flower to perish?
ghostgeek: You can either eat the plant directly or eat the animal that ate the plant. To live you must eat something else. If you want to die then do so but nothing else in nature will care.
Wonderbunny: Plants grow quicker than animals and are therefore a more efficient use of farmland. They also help to restore oxygen and reduce CO2 in the atmosphere.
kittyfriendly: I am not a vegetarian now, but I am working on that transition. I rather kill the plants who can't show me they are in pain, than the animals who are trying to escape death. Ok, as of today no more meat for me. I love animals.
kittyfriendly: I am a proud animal lover. Let the animals live. Too bad mankind started eating meat in the first place.:.(
Wonderbunny: Meat doesn't even taste nice. The plant kingdom has a myriad of flavours and textures whereas meat just has a greasy chewy vibe and all fish tastes fishy.
struanrobertson02: No, vegetarians are not plant killers. As we're not the ones farming them.
However, we do support farming them, and we do love consuming them.
But we want to live, don't we? Besides,
Plants are plants, plants don't feel pain and aren't sentient.
They prolly don't enjoy their life being stuck in the ground anyway.
We don't have much other things to eat other than plants and animal products, we'd just be very unhealthy and die young. And humans aren't stupid enough to value plants over ourselves. So saying plants have emotions, and that it's bad we kill them. Is just horrendous.
Vegetarians are not stupid people. The ones that are for the morals, for the animals,
we just vow to have a more ethical lifestyle and more perfect world. But our race advancement just isn't there yet, we're to busy caught up in Political problems and finding cures. We can't find alternatives for meat and so on. Vegetarians and vegans want animal production to end to stop the suffering of animals. But humans won't let go of their crave of meat, and that's because we haven't made alternatives.
Oh, you do know that most Vegetarians (not vegans) just have it as a diet, so they can live a more healthier lifestyle? Or just for the sake of losing weight? I see no problem with these people. Yet their's always an angry mob of meat eaters to rally up and bash the diet and the dieters.
And finally, the whole "When you cut grass, water appears. Must mean grass cries, aww, poor grass." Ehh, well isn't that just the water from the roots?
jmiller99: I am a vegan, because i dont support the cruelty to animals that goes on, I dont push my ideas on others as i believe that everyone must make their own choices, but i do think if ur going to eat it u ought to know what happens to it, after that make up ur own mind. when my children grew up and they wanted to eat meat i ididnt stop them, everybody is on there own evolution path..
