I've been researching climate change for over 30 years and am convinced the earth's climate is driven by solar flares (sunspots) all the experimental data available indicate CO2 has no effect on climate, in fact temperature increase drives an increase in CO2. It's been a lot warmer than this in earlier periods, even just 1000 years ago it was 3-5C warmer. During the Jurassic period, about 15C warmer and most of the world was quite tropical. I think it would be safer to say the intuitions of many fields of science brought forth our modelling of climate. theHating: Also, re statements on government funding for climate science and that whole unfounded conspiracy of the new world order. If you bothered to look into the history of climate science, and attempted to gauge the sentiment of scientists worldwide reacting to the claims made by americans, you would see how silly you sound and maybe that is the reason intellectuals never want to discuss science with you at all. Sir Loin: You're reading a bit more into my posts than what I actually say. Climatology is highly specialised but requires in depth knowledge of several other disciplines, especially physics. I worked in this field for 12 years and it has continued to be something of a hobby for 30 years. My most recent research using paleodendrochronology from Osaka University in Japan has given data on solar flare maxima going back 200 million years. I am reasonably confident it is solar flares (sunspots) that drive climate change rather than an enhanced greenhouse effect, however this makes no money for the climate alarmists so will be a very unpopular hypothesis when I publish in 2 weeks. Incidentally it is not intellectuals who refuse to discuss any opposing views to the anthropogenic global warming theory but financiers of the carbon trading scam, along with a few poorly informed meteorologists. If you'd like to find out a bit more about climate change, I'm quite happy to assist but in a more private setting, perhaps by pm. The current head of IPCC, Dave Wratt, has kindly provided me with much data from the Greenland ice coring project which support my hypothesis that climate warming increases CO2, not CO2 causing increasing temps. These data only go back a few millennia, not as far as the Osaka data. Dave is an old colleague and freely admits the data contradict popular theory. theHating: I think you are just repeating a popular mantra, and i do not see how your data supports your hypothesis at all.
