New Apartheid Movement

Blastus
Blastus: America is about as efficient as it can get without great expenditure of capital and years of research and many more years to develop. The new infrastructure to support many more dollars and years of development. Then have to get technology out in the market and start to replace existing systems. Will take decades.

Unlike America’s technologically advanced (We are the leading economy in the world and yet we pollute half as much as China) energy infrastructure that requires more and more investment in time and money with very small steps forward because of the advanced technology needed that as yet doesn’t even exist.

Consider China.

China on the other hand is generations behind in their technology. A small investment (relative to what America would have to invest) in time and money will propel them forward. To make the biggest impact to global climate in fastest amount of time a political uprising needs to take place.

Remember when the America and Europe came together during the Anti Apartheid movement 90s
Why not consider China the new Anti Apartheid only instead of fighting a racist government we are fighting an environment destroying government. The people who rose to the common disgust of that racist institution need to bring the same energy of the masses and rise again against China's pollution. Our very existence is in the balance.
You want the fastest, biggest impact on the environment? Make China clean up!

Blastus: Point is, instead of people putting their energies into trying to improve America a fraction lets put all the rhetoric, stories, novels, news reports, public conversation, movies, concerts, celebrities getting involved, increase public awareness that China is the place to put our energy. If we can move China even a little the impact on the environment is huge. Similar effort was made during the anti-apartheid movement.
If the situation is this desperate isn't it incumbent on us, to take big steps, and cleaning up China is the biggest.

Sir Loin: Blastus, with you 100% on that. Some international pressure on the CCP might get them to improve their environmental practices, however I do have my doubts given their track record of belligerence toward neighbours and their disaster of a homeland
