aleydis21: yes it is!!! it's disgusting. Why would you wanna eat your own kind? I once saw this movie, I think it was called The Holocaust, and it pretty freaked the poop out of me. it's about a group of aborigines hunting people and torturing them before eating them and it's a true story.

xxzero: cannibalism in extreme survival situations can be justifiable it's a eat or die situation (for example Andes flight disaster,Faced with starvation and radio news reports that the search for them had been abandoned, the survivors fed on the dead passengers who had been preserved in the snow.)...

personaly in normal circumstances it's something i would never do it's so horrible...(i would prefer to die of starvation ) but who knows how people (myself included) will react in extreme cases of survival...

Outback John: I think we are silly having taboos like this.

I once went to a Barbie q in Cambodian foothills to the kymer.

I rattled off every kind of animal the meat might in question be.

My partner refused to eat or talk to me after i did.

She never confirmed the fact that is was Human body parts.

The fact that it was delicious was maybe an aspect that strikes me.

But we could eat people who are clogging up the prison system maybe?

Outback John: No its not at all .....it is lucrative to sell human meat in some parts of the world but not disclose that it is human.....sauces etc....

Yes i am glad this topic was raised ...human meat is not so different to kangaroo meat but more oily.

It has a pleasant taste and is very good for you.

I will say this again "it is very good for you'

Sure you have to get over the social taboo's in your own mind , if you can.

I am not saying eating people is for everyone so please dont get me wrong.

But then criminals who clog up our prison system could be processed and provide much needed protein to consumers who maybe cant afford regular meat.

We could process a million criminals and provide some very poor nations with protein...we dont have to mention what it is

Fantastic news!

A PERUVIAN "brotherhood," accused of murdering at least 60 people and selling victims' fat to foreign cosmetics traders, carried out its grisly work undetected for 30 years, Peruvian police said.
The gang used abandoned buildings in the Amazon jungle and high Andes to clandestinely butcher victims and "formed a network, or brotherhood that carried out criminal activities," police general Eusebio Felix said.

Peruvian authorities have taken three men and a woman into custody and are hunting two unnamed Italians suspected of buying human fat for as much as $US15,000 ($16,300)a litre - to be used in European cosmetics.

"Those detained have confessed that after assassinating their victims, they slit their throats, hung the torsos and limbs on 'S' shaped hooks," Gen Felix said.

"Later, to extract the fat, they lit candles to heat the room."

The fat would seep out of the thorax of the decapitated bodies and "fell into receptacles for three days and was later decanted."

Brett666: Speaking of Cambodia. Do u know if they still have the shooting range there? U know, the one where u can blow up live cows with bazooka's left over from the Vietnam war? Or throw live grenades into the nearby lakes? What a great day out that was! Beats bungee jumping any day of the week!

But seriously, as gruesome as that sounds, selling human fat to cosmetics companies isnt really that big of a deal. The Chinese government have openly been selling human organs cut from the still warm bodies of recently executed prisoners to rich western customers for years. All comes down to supply and demand.
Makes u feel proud to be a member of the human race!

Aura
Aura: There's a book i read years ago (and it annoys me to death but i can't remember the title or author) where humans settled a colony on a dessert planet, then get cut off for centuries. The only life there are insects and some grass plants. To survive they not only eat the flesh of people, they make leather from the skin and tools and jewelry from the bones.
That may sound horrible when I summarize it like that, but it didn't read horrible at all. The people all went about recycling the dead in a respectful and ceremonious way. (except maybe in one bit where a woman gets insulted by a sailor and she goes home to her husband demanding he get her some new boots from the hide of the sailor lol)The point is cannibalism doesn't have to be horrible. It certainly doesn't have to involve torture or slaughter. And for the dead, I'm sure they don't care anymore. Is rotting in the ground or burning up and then getting crushed to a powder really that much more dignified?

jztme: this reminds me of that movie of a plane crash where they landed on the mountain covered in snow, and to survive they had to eat from the deceased. A true story , i guess for survival, desperation will kick in. Oh heck now its gonna bug me cos i cant think of the name of the movie grrrr
