5 FIBRE GEMS

marbiie: Women need 25 grams and Men 35 grams of fibre daily. Well, fret not here some veggies that might help you get closer to the finishing line. All amounts are per ½ cup cooked.
1. Collard greens – 10 grams of fibre – I put them in soups or put a leaf or 2 in the blender as one of the ingredients in making vegetable/fruit drink/smoothie.
2. Spinach – 9 grams of fibre – Mix them with your salads.
3. Sweet Potato – 11 grams of fibre – Mashed, no skin and mix it with you mashed potatoes to give it interesting taste or a stand alone you can eat. It tastes just as good on its own.
4. Baked potato – 28 grams of fibre – The secret: EAT THE SKIN but don’t overdo the sour cream ladies if you’re on a diet.
5. Avocado – 17 grams of fibre – This is high in good fat. I like it like as a dessert. Add a tiny amount of honey or brown sugar with milk. If not you can add to your salads or wrap sandwiches
