Story Time - One sentence at a time. (Page 5) Wonderbunny: Occasionally he thought he saw a flash of something brightly coloured. lummox: Picking up the pace, he readied himself to pounce. Wonderbunny: With a leap through the air, he managed to catch hold of a snake-like appendage. WineNSarcasm: And brought it down to the ground for closer inspection. lummox: When it winked at him he realised instantly what it was. Wonderbunny: It could help him but by running away had led him as swiftly as possible to where he needed to be. WineNSarcasm: As he heaved a sigh of relief, he wondered if this would lead him back to the path for home.
lummox: As dusk descended small fireflies began to illuminate the way ahead. Wonderbunny: He followed the path but held on tight to the strange creature as he thought it might come in useful later in his quest. WineNSarcasm: Following where the fireflies led, he soon came to a lake with trees surrounding the water. lummox: Despite the stillness of the scene, the hairs on the back of his neck started to bristle. Wonderbunny: He could feel that a powerful enchantment surrounded the place. lummox: That, together with the alligator tracks put him on edge. WineNSarcasm: Turning his face slightly to the right of him, he saw a peculiar blue light. Wonderbunny: It seemed to fill the sky with no particular source. lummox: Silhouetted against the eerie sky was a break in the surrounding treeline. Wonderbunny: Across the lake from him it held his gaze. WineNSarcasm: Until the stillness was broken with a hissing sound from behind him. lummox: That'll be the bean stew he thought to himself. Wonderbunny: He wondered how he could get to the other side of the lake. WineNSarcasm: A large, magical swan landed in front of him and announced that he could, of course, take him across the lake lummox: Provided that, in return, he would take the swan to meet his Leida. Wonderbunny: Of course, he had no idea where Leida was. lummox: In desperation he agreed to the swan's deal, and climbed onto it's back. WineNSarcasm: As they were riding across the lake, he could see something of great size swimming towards them under the water. | |
