plitiksnly: Exactly, van doesn't know what he is talking about. I know people in the medical field who claim to have everything you mention that you have. You get taken to have epidurals, and you don't get relief, I wonder if you aren't given any medicine.

plitiksnly: no, you may experience pain on your tendons, muscles, ligaments, etc. But it doesn't start there, I think it comes from the central nerves. And as someone else said it could possibly be caused by trauma and the fact that even injured we all continue to work due to need, etc. Yeah, swimming, massage helps, Acu, not so much, herbs, no. Exercise, maybe gentle stretches, but it hurts afterwards. SO take it easy, love your body, take the medicine your doctor prescribes too and rest if it feels good.

helenanorca: Thank you for sharing your story Zanjan....I wish I could fast but unfortunately I have Diabetes and can't go a day without my proper diabetes daily diet...if I don't eat for hours, I will go into hypoglycemia and most likely end up in the E.R. in a hospital or worse..go into Diabetic Comma..I suffer Fibromyalgia every day...I take a combination of painkillers and apply analgesic gels to my feet, hands [ the worse parts of my body that feel that intense, excruciating pain] when pills don't work....I have been given different types of shots, usually on my butt when the pain is UNBEARABLE, but unfortunately the effects only last, most of them. 24 hrs.....I plan to reduce my over-active, stressful lifestyle and consider Yoga, TaiChi, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and adapted exercises and I hope that will diminish my pains. Hot swimming pools and hot showers are also recommended to relieve the pains...Sometimes is hard not to think of stopping existing, but I would never take my own life. As I will be seeing a Specialist soon in Rheumatism who supposedly can officially diagnose if I have Fibromyalgia, I hope I will receive the proper Treatments and drugs and cope with this disease. When I am not in pain due to the painkillers, I am a happy, positive, Life loving person.

Zanjan: Helenanorca, the fast I was talking about doesn't refrain from food - it's a liquid diet, called The Master Cleanser (buy the book at a health food store or on line) . You do it for 10-14 days only and are never hungry.

In the morning, you prepare the liquid according to the simple recipie. You drink this 12 times a day in a mug, mixed with hot water. When away from home, just take a thermos. At night, you take a laxative tea. No medications are taken or need to be taken. Cleans out the system by detoxing it from all those medications.

It's sweetened with honey - diabetics can have honey, not sugar. If you're insulin-dependant, check with your doctor. I know diabetics who've done it but everyone is different. The lead in prep is 2 days with no meat........same as the 2 day lead out. Recipies are included in the book.

I had been on prescribed antidepressants, which doctors at the time thought could help but they didn't - I'd never been depressed so it was a waste of money. There was a slight purplish hue to my legs then. I stopped taking them a few weeks before starting this diet the first time, and never took them again.

Yes, I found that quality sleep was important. I had no problem falling asleep, just staying asleep. If I could sleep through the whole night, without sleeping pills, I'd get the REM time needed. Next day, I'd feel so much better with very little pain.

I think a personalized combination of treatments will always be required to manage this disorder.

helenanorca: Thank you Zanjan...Cleaning the body systems of all toxins makes a lot of sense...sounds as it is a doable fast, however I have to talk to my Endocrinologist since I am on insulin only for Diabetes control and of course the proper diet for diabetics...the Cleansing Fast seems easy to do...I hardly eat meat since I prefer seafood, vegetables, fruits and carbohydrates with moderation and the right portion size and choice for the Diabetic Diet. I will try to find and get the Master Cleanser book online...I have the same problem with my sleep...it gets interrupted 2 or 3 times each night. If I get recommendations to take anti-depressants to help this disorder, I will refuse....I was depressed 20 yrs and have been free of these medicines for the past 12 yrs. I did accept the help of a female Psychologist...I do need support and need to talk to a professional about my feelings, my physical suffering, and my frustrations....being so seriously limited by this disorder is a tremendous challenge...Thank you for sharing your valuable experience and information.
