Some say it's harder to kick than heroin. electrician25hr: Yes smoking is just as hard (or ever harder) to quit the heroin habit. But just as you did not start intermediately smoking a pack a day you gradually built up to smoking that pack a day. It's the way you have to quit the smoking habit....QUIT GRADUALLY. Smoke less and less cigarettes each week till you no longer smoke any cigarettes. Quitting cold turkey don't work as well as quitting gradually. Another way to quit for sure, is to die from lung cancer as it what you are paying to get when you smoke.......  rubie26: i have been a smoker sense the age of 15 i picked it up as i wanted to try it and see what it is like , i was a healthy teenager active in sports and hobbies never sat around on my bum ,smoking has no benifits i have been trying to give it up for the last year now i am now going into day 3 of being cold turkey it is really hard to fight the cravings i now know just how much it is addictive and it has turned my life upside down i dont blame smoking for my health conditions i blame my self but i had a stroke 2 months ago and i am stage two hypertensive if i didnt have theses medical conditions i would still contiue my addictition a am blessed with the wake up call and a second chance at life nothing good about the filthy habbit i really express my concerns to anyone who ever picks it up , just remember british tobbaco dosnt care about your health and he just wants your money !!!
