When people ask if something is art... AretoNyx: I showed my kid today about urinal art, Andy Warhol, and other things related. She was very amused at the idea of what some created as a banana with duct tape and more. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_e0DBcigH_9yHN18-DG2Ebc6ymZo8nfV I have an art journal/ nature journal/ whatever journal. I plan to put some fitness in mine among other things, and have my kids do whatever else. I made these from paper and string. There is so much one could add Outside and in it. Any suggestions as art projects or other ideas? MaIvado: I never liked Dada, abstract or Pop art works. If you want you can look into Lichtenstein’s pop art style with the kids. He did comic art with paint. They can try to mimic something modern using a traditional medium as paint. Depends on the age range of the kids. And what they prefer to do: paint, draw, craft. MaIvado: From a personal view, the best art will be the traditional art first. Or you can teach by art movements. Example teach them Impressionism one week and another week another art movement. That way they can see different art styles in a mental order AretoNyx: Sounds good. I think there is ways to teach all sorts at any age. They have good art teachers too. I have schooled at home with a charter school but now we do all sorts of things besides public school too. I do like teaching Andy Warhol to ancient classics ...to other. MaIvado: That is good. To show them this while young. You are an art teacher or you also do other topics? AretoNyx: I am a mother and teach things. Though mothers and fathers have to do much for kids I suppose. I wanted to be an art teacher at one time but found I could not afford the debt of college even with financial aid. I guess I should have stripped or did porn but never sold my body like that. Lol Now just older and chubby with a scar ...after having kids I do not see who would care to buy for even legal porn. In the end I rather keep my kids safe, well taken care of, and try to teach them things such as art. Some how we survive but I guess that is privilege and being helped in a first world country. Thankful to be helped as we come close to homelessness a couple times. It really was close. I also have old high school art that is not great but selling has to be done legally too. Complicated. Though my kids like to do things as well. I am unsure how to sell without a license in my state. Never was great at extrovert behavior and being a business , woman. I am terrible at socializing but try my best. I am an odd one I guess. However I should create more I think for fun and expression myself ...and not just craft. Things I craft seem to come out crooked some times. Lol Maybe a bit tmi or confessing to much. However I do not mind sharing a bit of my imperfections. I will show them as much as possible and hopefully they will enjoy what they see. Thankful for the art teachers too. I hope they keep dreaming, using imagination, having hopes, and find joys in life. MaIvado: Yes, reviewing your display picture, I agree, porn/stripping will not work out as an option. The US has easy options for work [grocery stores, restaurants, cleaning, etc]. Education is important for your next generation of kids and the public school is free in the US. It gives more options. There are many resources to help improve your art skills: YouTube tutorials, library books. And practice. Having an Instagram account will help with exposure. Checking online for information on that license issue will help too. It is difficult to get into the art world but no harm in doing what you enjoy. (Edited by MaIvado) AretoNyx: I would fit certain porn but barely make a thing. One does age out but really there is some kink porn ...but in the end show biz of any sort is that competitive. I agree it wouldn't work out very well under circumstances as a whole. Yes I agree tutorials are nice, but only practice one stays well at anything. I am ok but not great. Probably stuck that way on everything. Lol AretoNyx: In the end things will be ok as usual. Thanks to helpers and those willing. I try to give back some but volunteering is not very optional at the moment. MaIvado: Noted. I’m not familiar with the kink porn community to give recommendations. There are things as ‘fans only’, ‘findom’ [financial domination], etc. These things are not random but will take some skill in gaining clients and maintaining their needs. If that’s your route, you may find information online. With art you can only get better with practice. This means that you’ll not be stuck at a level, you’ll keep increasing in talent. AretoNyx: I talked on that topic in another post else where but besides this or erotic art I am sure there are ways to legally do things. I wish it was more blue collar but there are ways I guess for all. Many seem to be having rough times for sure, and others very lonely. True one can get better with practice but I guess depends also what one calls art. Jackson Pollock paint splatter to whatever. It is all about tastes I guess in placement and color. Any how some times I just let things flow. Some times good or not so much. I guess any how things will be as they are whatever with me. (Edited by AretoNyx) AretoNyx: I made a list of pictures of stuffs I did. Nothing was that interesting to others even if I did win a couple art competitions. It is just how one sells themselves too with such things. I am terrible at selling myself on such. I need to be a better extrovert maybe but have not really any one much to practice face to face on. MaIvado: It will depend on what will sell within the sphere you are working in. Perhaps landscape paintings, pet portraits, or decorative pieces are what the people around you want and not abstract pieces. A safe area will be landscape painting scenes. Some artists have other persons who will handle the commission part. At the moment, work on a portfolio [can check artists who are at your level online to see their subject matter]. After you have compiled a portfolio upload it to a specific Instagram account for your artwork only [or a host website]. From there you can create a few flyers with the information and drop if off at various locations [stores]. For a start: look for tutorials on pet portraits, try a few, make fliers and drop them off at pet shops or vet clinics. Or think things over and choose a niche market. (Edited by MaIvado) AretoNyx: Just stuff likey less than 50 dollars. I do have a better art that some may hang on walls with a girl holding lilies and cherubs around her. Though most stuff is not great. Just art projects. Maybe some things can be sold as scrap? AretoNyx: My mom gave some of my work away and they hung it in the place she lives. I really doubt I sold anything yet in my life other than was through an auction not done by my family. She gave some of my things without me knowing but hey. I might look such places up but usually there is also a fee. I can afford no fees at the moment. The fee is to take a place to sell things. It is actually competitive around where I live to sell art. (Edited by AretoNyx) MaIvado: I’m not sure people purchase scraps. Maybe keep them to the side for now. What are your thoughts on children’s book illustrations? The good thing about technology is that your art doesn’t have to be restricted to your area. DIAMONDfire: art is something created. i think most people who are artistic have a dreamy nature and the important thing is to awaken the possibility of art because as much as its about creativity it is constructed via technique. so i think method is the entry point for the artistic mind i would try soft pastels and fudge sticks or oil pastels that you can blend because thats how art comes to life. AretoNyx: Thanks for much advice from you all. I just want to have fun and express. Even if others think it junk it is just letting out things. | hobbies Chat Room Similar Conversations |
