Scollard: Bolero. All the hype about how hot (and naked) Bo Derek is in this film. That's all it had going for it. Complete waste of time, horrendous acting, stupid storyline.

Cassavetes was a king of avante garde and improvised cinema, influenced much by Jazz Improvisation and Autuer Filmaking. Like any improvised recital or show there is always a risk of getting something very good or anywhere in the spectrum to very bad. This has to take the cake for being one of the worst films I've ever seen. I lasted the entire screening because I found it impossible to believe just how bad it was and would it get any better.

I would highly recommend some of his other films such as Shadows and Love Streams.

A true master of cinema and a pioneer.
