The Exorcist 1973 Gulab82: What were your thoughts, feelings and beliefs the very first time you watched The Exorcist (1973)? What do you remember about the time you first watched it? Captain Nemo1: I well remember my first time..I was scared and mesmerized.to me this movie is timeless and a classic.i have seen it numerous times but I still love to watch it any time I get a chance.i love the screen shot for the movie poster.that priest standing in the street looking up at the house with all that fog swirling around him..thanks for starting this thread friend and thanks for your friendship cloudygrey33: I was genuinely scared by it as a young person. I grew up in a pretty hardcore Christian home so it felt very taboo like I was going to somehow open the door to demons in my house! Also it was built up in my mind because it was always the horror movie my mom wouldn’t let me rent at the store when I was younger. So it felt even more forbidden and dark. 😄 Gulab82: I was scared, too, the first time I saw it ....at ten or twelve years of age. Then, when I watched it again in my teens, I started imagining scenarios....as in, how would I deal with so and so situation in the movie....my first thought was to prevent the stress and heart attacks and ill feelings of all the people involved with the possessed girl. cofr828: I was too young...about 12 years old...I watched it with my mother!! Nervous laughter from the poor woman....I didn't rate it at that tender age. It wasn't until I got to see the directors cut in the cinema, that I recognised the sheer brilliance and intensity of the movie. | Movies Chat Room Similar Conversations |
