Have you searched out an old movie you loved and been disappointed?
arnym: The title says it all: Have you searched out an old movie you loved and been disappointed? Got any examples?
I recall, aged 11 or 12, seeing Doug. Fairbanks jr. in "Sinbad", and thinking it was marvellous. Years later I found it online & started watching it; gave up after about 10 minutes. The dialogue & acting were pathetic. Can't believe I ever sat through enough of it to get to the acrobatic-action bits. I still love the Scheherazade music though, that it opened with.
Anybody else have examples?
Angry Beaver: I had never seen Gone With The Wind and decided to watch it when I was around 25.
That film was the most corny, melodramatic, overacted twaddle I had ever seen, I never finished it that day lol
Aura_: When my daughter was finally old enough where we could sit down and watch the original Hellraiser, she was completely unimpressed to the point she laughed at the bad stop motion effects. I remember that movie being terrifying, but I have to agree with her, it has aged badly and PG13 rated movies of today are much scarier in comparison
