Hollywood gone mad

What is WRONG with these people? If this had been done by any other group of people, they would have been set upon with sticks for being crazed vigilantes. First it's Spike Lee and know it's that Crazybird Roseanne Barr. Yeesh.

MARCH 29--The comedian Roseanne Barr last night tweeted the home address of George Zimmerman’s parents to her 110,000-plus Twitter followers, only to delete the posting after “not fully understanding that it was private not public.”

Barr’s posting of the correct Florida address of Robert and Gladys Zimmerman came at the same time Spike Lee was issuing an apology for erroneously disseminating a tweet that purportedly contained the home address of George Zimmerman, who last month killed teenager Trayvon Martin.

The residence cited by Lee is actually the home of an elderly couple with no connection to Zimmerman.

Barr, who deleted her tweet in the face of criticism from some Twitter followers, noted that she first thought it “was good to let ppl know that no one can hide anymore.” That stance quickly changed, with Barr reporting, “But vigilante-ism is what killed Trayvon. I don’t support that.”

But while Barr deleted her original posting, the Zimmermans’s address remains in messages in her Twitter stream. Barr’s original tweet was a retweet of a post by a new Twitter user who appears devoted to disseminating the Zimmermans’s address and phone number, as well as contact information for Joseph Oliver, who has made numerous TV appearances in support of Zimmerman, a friend and former coworker.

Still, the entertainer left open the possibility that she would again circulate the Seminole County address of Zimmerman’s parents. “If Zimmerman isn’t arrested I’ll rt his address again.” She added, “maybe go 2 his house myself.”

They never do seem to see that fanning the flames and throwing chit at each other never does anything other than make it a hot chit mess.

Spike Lee apologises for Twitter mistake

Movie director Spike Lee has apologised over a mistake on Twitter that saw him identify an elderly couple’s home as the address of the man who shot teenager Trayvon Martin.

The director has been one of many campaigners attempting to draw attention to the shooting of the teenager by neighbourhood watch captain George Zimmerman, which has inflamed racial tensions in the US.

Now Spike Lee has apologised for his actions via Twitter:

"I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address. It Was A Mistake. Please Leave The McClain's In Peace.Justice In Court" (sic)

The couple’s attorney Matt Morgan revealed that the couple have been offered compensation following the Twitter mix-up.

He said: "At this point in time, we have come to an agreement with Spike Lee and his attorneys, and at this point, the matter is fully resolved. Spike has agreed to compensate the McClains for their loss and for the disruption into their lives. He's taken full responsibility."

Elaine McClain added that Spike Lee had called to apologise following the Twitter incident: "He was really kind. And when he called us, you could just tell he really felt bad about it. And it was just a slip, and I just know that he really, really has been concerned."

He shouldn't have done it in the first place and let justice take it course if the evidence warrants it.

OCD_OCD: True, Lavendar. Now let's see if Roseanne Barr does the same thing.

It's like putting the toothpaste back into the tube, isn't it? Once the information is out, saying "I'm sorry" seems a bit lame when these people could have been badly hurt or killed because of their stupidity and thoughtlessness.

lavendar_star: Exactly OCD _OCD, because that couple are going to have to move to another house just in case, which why he was right to compensate them even though I think they would had a good case to sue him and would of won.

These liberal celebrities are jumping on the bandwagon because its trendy and should be more responsible for their action.

OCD_OCD: The celebrities here think that they are above the laws and morals of mere humans. They write their own laws and act without thought. In essence, many of them are conceited, self-centered blow-hards. The thing that makes it funnier is that, while they may be good actors, they are seldom educated.

OCD_OCD: Aaaaargh! Now the Labor Unions want to get attention over the death of a 17-year old and use his death as some sort of spring-board for their agenda. These people are just foul.

"AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker told The Daily Caller that it is “conservative, right-wing policies that are to blame” for Trayvon Martin‘s death.

Martin was a black teenager shot and killed by an Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer. The shooting, and the police department’s decision to not arrest the suspect, George Zimmerman, has caused an uproar in Florida and across the country. (RELATED: Full coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting)

“The same folks who want to kill workers’ rights in the work place are the same folks who want to kill voters’ votes … and now they are literally supporting legislation that is literally killing our children.”

Baker told TheDC that conservative policies, like Florida’s “stand your ground” law — which states that an individual has the right to defend himself if he feels that his life is in imminent danger — are to blame.

“When you look at whose behind it, you find that the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a very conservative think tank comprised of corporations and very conservative representatives at the state level are behind this.”

lavendar_star: lol That is crazy so everybody and his father is either using it to push their own hate filled political agenda or use it as stick to beat people or political organisation with they dont like for their own gain.

It is quite despicable exploiting a dead teenager for their own ends I am trying to think if a similar thing has happened in the UK I dont think so but either way just let case prevail in what ever way the evidence leads.

I think people who are cheaply and ignorantly using that case for their own ends will end up looking foolish and just backfire on them, whatever grievances they have with the Republican deal with it on the issues at hand not by exploiting the case. sad state of affairs

OCD_OCD: I stay disgusted with our media here in the U.S. But what is even more appalling is that so many people here blindly follow anything if it piques their interest. They don't bother to look into the truth of what they are being told, they simply act on emotion. And THAT's what both sides are using against each other.

No truthfulness, just an effort to whip up the most people on your side by saying whatever it is you need to say to get them riled up. No one seems to be able to discuss anything to an ultimate conclusion and look at the pieces and put it together in a way that makes sense.

We even had a U.S. Congressman speak before the House of Representatives wearing a hoodie. It's like the unreality of reality television. Everyone has to have a stunt. Bah, I'm so disgusted. Politicians and media acting like mean girls and school yard bullies.

lavendar_star: Yes very true in regards to the media and things are no different in the UK, the media have no concern with the truth just their version of it. The media in the Western world is definitely the single most powerful entity in what shapes people views and perceptions of events and ideology. They play loose and fast with the so called truth and with no regards on how it will affect people and the events itself which the Trayon Martin illustrates. As for peoples reactions we are only human and the media and sometimes politicians know what buttons to push that will serve their purpose or to boost ratings and popularity.

As for the hoodie thing that just plain immature, I thought well I know better, that politicians are articulated enough without the need to use stunts to put their point across, that's what campaigners do etc like PETA for example. Lets hope common sense well prevail but with each new thing it seem to have vanished completely.

OCD_OCD: Spike Lee also tried to promote the conspiracy theory that the U.S. Government (probably at the hands of George Bush) blew up the levees in New Orleans and allowed the 9th Ward to flood because the government wanted to get rid of black people in New Orleans. The hurricane apparently had nothing to do with it. LOL
