Murdoch slams Scientology as 'evil and creepy' (Page 3) Sarcastic Dots: Imagine, some of us could be watched due to the stuff we're uttering in here. Dun, dun, dun. lavendar_star: rofl, maybe on Facebook but wireclub has more anonymity I think we are safe but are we................. lavendar_star: OK now I remember the whole no pain relief in child labour for women which Scientology advocates, you know that was made up by men. . lol An infamous BBC Panorama documentary focusing on the religion of Scientology. Reporter John Sweeney visited the United States to investigate whether the Church of Scientology was becoming more mainstream. The programme gained particular controversy before and during filming due to unresolved differences on content and approach between Sweeney's production team and Scientology members, who did not want detractors or perceived enemies of the church to be interviewed or included in the documentary. btw some did say the show was slightly bias against the religion/cult!!! (Edited by lavendar_star) OCD_OCD: Unless it comes from their own Scientology video vaults, pretty much all news, commentaries and documentaries about Scientologists portray them as complete whack jobs. lavendar_star: Yes so true but they seem so sinister and yet again I agree with Murdoch Mormans seems mysterious but not creepy like Scientology. OCD_OCD: Like many religions, there are different sects of Latter Day Saints, but the Mormon church itself (I'm pretty sure) have abjured plural wives. lavendar_star: Yeah i heard that we ve had a couple of documentaries on them obviously more interest with Romney possibly being the new president but its the special underwear im curious about lol. But we have them in the UK but I never knew that the Mormons and the Latter Day Saint were the same religion lol. Then you have the moonies who had that mass wedding and their leader choosing the couples but I think Scientology is defo the creepiest and weirdest of the cults/religions with their beliefs. (Post deleted by Barbara the Jew ) OCD_OCD: Is it God or Moses that is supposed to have an office? Where is the office? I'm so confused...... classicrockdude61: How I play it. Ifthe Scientologists don't try to ram their beliefs, I won't ram my beliefs down theirs. When people hear that word "Scientology" their think of a guy jumping up and down on a chair, on national television on The Oprah Winfrey Show. lavendar_star: Yes I think Tom Cruise has given Scientology serious bad press especially the upcoming divorce, I have never had Scientologists try to convert me maybe because I'm not rich or a celebrity but I have had mainstream religions try and force their beliefs on me.!!!1 Metaverseguy: Scientology is still pretty new. It's different, peculiar, and taboo for most people. Most religions have been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. They've made the mistakes and have apologized for them where Scientology is more innocent and trying to prove that it's worthwhile. It's based of science fiction. Frankly, I don't think we need any more religions, but I guess people just want to be different. Coffrey: Scientology is much worse than anyone thinks, it's just an entire scam, much worse than Christianity, so Murdoch is probably right. There's this whole post on it a while back, it's a bit long, but it'll give you all you need to know about scientology http://moonbladematt.blogspot.com/2010/03/scientology.html | Off Topic Chat Room Similar Conversations |
