This generation (Page 2) Sables: how can you say that Caveman...look at all the gangs...the drugs and weapons they use.... Lucid I had a girlfriend that 25 years ago used to sit her child in front of the video machine, that machine basically raised her boy, but I have to say he is a very nice young man, she never let him watch violent movies...not that I agree with her doing that, there is always an exception to the rule... Comrade_: I mean, not only in countries that have advance technology (tv, video games) ..the rise is a world-wide thing. harlett: I can't imagine having no compassion for the loss of life and living of who i am not ... and upon hearing ,,,, being seriously indifferent about it . do i have to admitt out loud i always say a sincere rest in peace ...and send a message in thought too those who are grieving their loss ...only answer that makes any sense too me ... we have been reclycled once too often to expereince mortal organic life and living and the harsh brutalities of it . harlett: two generations of men and woman have lived their lives in a small little isolated space called the west bank {if that is what palestine little piece of earth is called}can you imagine no having future of making a living i can't ...along side of me living my life here ....geee----ish .. i can't stand when folks here in this gad awful do as you will good ole us of a .... refuse to anything but want to steal from me as there way to do for themself ....when they could be doing so more for themself than trying too live off me while in prison .... ✯ ℓυcΐ∂ ♡: I was just thinking the same thing Sables lol It may actually be funny if she made sense though Comrade_: Stewart you fail to see that you're always online till 2am or later, I know this because you generally come buzzing around my ass after lunch (my time) now take a seat and settle down. Someone said that you have a crush on me, that is why you're so apt to get my attention. Comrade_: get over your obsession. Back to the topic, could be that Western influence Sables? the greed ✯ ℓυcΐ∂ ♡: lmfao on another thread she told me my mates on wire could lift all the problems I have irl off my shoulders. I near pissed myself at that one. Sables: I don't know if you can blame western influence, I think over the years if you go back, greed has always been around, people have always coveted their neighbours belongings (and wives ) I just find that people don't have much empathy these days, that they are willing to take a life with no regard... Stewart75: Calm down little Caveman... ... I'm sure your ISP has no complaints... Keep on clocking up the hours... ✯ ℓυcΐ∂ ♡: Hang on a sec...People in the third world have their kids carrying guns and fighting in wars. So their violence cannot be blamed on consoles or TV. Comrade_: Yes, that was my point on technology..but they get the guns from outside, hence they're influenced in a way. The_Riddler: As life we do pass through Dreams that we hope Let's wish for the good times And with problems we cope calybonos: I'm not so sure if "Western civilization"for the apparent increase in violence is solely to blame. That seems to just take the notion of personal responsibilities and place it on others, and if anything, responsibility is part of the formula for reducing violence. You may obtain a gun from someone, but what you choose to use it for is your decision. You might watch a movie glorifying violence,or crime, and could argue its long term effect on influencing societies values, but in fact it is YOUR society and not the films country of origin that will adopt or reject its moral messages. And life has been filled with both good and bad messages since the beginning of our time here. The world is becoming a smaller and smaller cage everyday, and just like too many rats in a cage when we get squeezed into less space,we will become more aggressive and possessive of 'our space' and 'our things'. It's just a matter of time before we reach critical mass....then anything resembling respect and order will be but a memory...our garden of eden has an expiration date, and the fruit on the trees are beginning to ripen. Edit-Didn't mean to sound all gloom and doom,so lets all enjoy the ride, get naked, and lie in a great big pile...who knows?...it might just change the world Morsy: Very true Caly....not doom and gloom but realism. As the world population explodes countries that have the space left will be inundated then social problems will escalate even more bringing conflict without these host countries being prepared even. | Off Topic Chat Room Similar Conversations |
