I Understand Now How To Use The New Friends Section ...

StuckInTheSixties
StuckInTheSixties:

.. when you want to locate a friend's profile, say, to send them a message or something, and they're not conveniently online at that moment, the proper procedure is to start at page 1 and look at each profile on the page, and then go to page 2, do the same thing, then go to page 3, and do that once again, then go to page 4, and repeat the procedure, after which you go to page 5, and run down the list on that page ...

etc.

etc.

etc.

Hey Wireclub! That new arrangement, where it's not really random, but not alphabetical either ... sort of halfway between those ...

That's really working well for everyone! Your new "trade efficiency for tedium" theme is really working! **

ƬЄЄƇЄღ: Have you noticed that that the friends in your list change around day to day? One particular friend of mine is sometimes on page 2, sometimes pg 3 and sometimes 4.. depending on what time of the day I go looking for them..

StuckInTheSixties: That's a part of the new, improved Wireclub. They planned it that way. They hope it will promote more interaction and conversation between you and all of those friends you see there in the Friends section as you're doing something much less important, like trying to find your friend's profile so you can send a message ... oh wait ... if you were going to send your friend a message, wouldn't you be interacting and conversing? Ahh ... you would, but you wouldn't be interacting and conversing in the new, improved Wireclub way of doing things.

By the way, since I started this thread, I've received a bunch more unnecessary, unwanted crap on my Home page, but didn't get any sort of indication that anyone had responded to the thread.

Nice, huh?

StuckInTheSixties:

I did, however, receive a very valuable suggestion that I might want to follow a thread on the new piercings that someone I don't know got. So I might be busy dwelling on that for a bit. And another on RAP WARS. And since, up to this moment, I've always despised rap, I guess this is the time to overcome my discrimination and broaden my cultural interests.

Gee, thanks, Wireclub!

Geoff: Yeah - I noticed that I don't get informed about new posts. I'm also no longer following any of the threads I started before 'new and improved' Wire.

Obviously, you MUST follow those "Suggested Topics," and not that drivel you would previously have had interest in.

What's WRONG with you, Geoff?

RUBY: Admin has mentioned it many times that things could be changed or added in future like the friend list and so on..it's just a matter of time...complaining doesn't help
people keep comparing old wire with new wire
Admin have been working day and night to get new wire going and keep fixing glitches ..i think we should all think before we type and be gratefull for them letting us have such a great site

Anne aka Mags: Ruby, it's just that so many of the ppl I interact with here are feeling as lost and isolated as I am. Surely we have the right to vent how we feel? I do appreciate the effort that's gone into this. But it truly is how many of us feel!

RUBY: I understand how you and others feel..but i have noticed that most of you haven't contacted mods for help in certain areas..i've noticed in what i read in some threads or on homepage..things that are in wire but you don't see..like the screen where you type can make it bigger and i've seen people saying it's so small..i've explained that many times..and about the Notifications how it works and how to go on search to find a user you don't know where it's at..and many other things

ƬЄЄƇЄღ: Ruby, I think we all appreciate the work that went into this site.. and yes, there are probably many things that we all need to find.. and we have been spending time doing that.. but as Mags says.. instead of feeling more connected, we are feeling more isolated.. I know I am - almost to the point of not wanting to come in because of it. I havn't seen a suggestion blog so far.. My only hope is that admin read these threads in the hopes that they can glean the things
that users are not liking and perhaps think about a bit of tweaking.. I know its not going to happen overnight.. but perhaps in the future?

and please don't take what i'm saying as an attacking comment cause you know i'm not..
I'm just trying to say that you're all welcome to ask..and off course suggest..and we'll try to help in many ways
