In fact, it's a hiker's paradise. American hiker Aijalon Gomes was hiking in China, and somehow strayed across the border into North Korea, where he was warmly greeted and shown such loving hospitality that he decided to remain in North Korea as their "guest." He stayed there in Pyongyang for seven months, and was going to enthusiastically take part in the North Korea "eight years of hard labor for hikers" volunteer program until former US president Jimmy Carter flew there and negotiated his release from prison ... um ... I mean, flew there and and somehow convinced him to return to the United States. lavendar_star: Personally i don't know how Kim Jong and other leaders/dictators like Mugabe can live with themselves knowing their ignorance and God complex causes so much suffering to the people of their nations. I mean, Gomes decided to take advantage of their welcoming hospitality and decided that he wanted to accompany them over the border and into the splendorous paradise of North Korea. Rabbits88: I gotta say.........you don't know how much of this is true and how much is propaganda? If true, it is horrible and regime change is a must. But if not true, then what? What happens if you were actually allowed to go to North Korea and found most of what was said about North Korea to be bullshit? What then? I've never been to North Korea. I just can't comprehend how 1 person can make a million man army all with weapons do anything against their will????? How is that possible? Here's what I do know though......the govts. of Canada, UK and the USA have proven themselves time and time again to be the most underhanded and dishonest govts. in world history. That much is a fact. They are also the best at hollywood propaganda. North Koreans are also Koreans.....they are also human beings........don't forget these facts......No rationale human being on earth would allow children to starve......the Chinese and the russians would definately offer food aid......No doubt about it. as I said.......never been there.......have any of you been there? and not ever being there means I really don't know what really goes on there. Remember all the hatred and propaganda about Cuba that was created by the USA? Most of you chastised the Cubans the same way you chastise the North Koreans. and then the Gonzales kid incident.......the father actually had to come and get his kidnapped kid. He had a choice to stay.......but he didn't.........His answer was plain and simple....why should he stay in a country with horrible poverty and living conditions over my home country of Cuba????? And he took his son and WILLINGLY went home.......and then dummies tried to spin it by saying that he was forced to go home. How laughable....... Then the kid grew up and had an interview......and what did the kid say........best thing his father ever did for him was to bring him home........ so, the bottom line is.....if true of what they say about North Korea, then of course, regime change is necessary.......if not true, then you let people live the way that they want to live. because of the dishonesty of the USA, we can't be sure as to what it is really like in North Korea. Post all the videos you want pertaining to a horrible North Korea......I in turn can post opposite videos of how happy North Koreans are. I reserve my judgement on this matter. I saw a undercover documentary that had people from North Korea speak about their experiences, I do not think the Western Media with all their faults would get pretend starving children just to prove a point that inconceivable. The fact that government isolates their country from the rest of the world baring China in the age of globalisation seems ignorant and not in the best interest of their citizens and creates suspicion. Furthermore, who is blinded by patriotism, or chastising north Korea or Cuba. In any society people should be allowed to criticise governments or regime like we can in the U.K doesn't mean we are hating on the population. As I have many issues with my government and thankfully we are allowed to air them, its called freedom of speech, If I am correct this site is based in Canada which has similar if not the same type laws as the U.K and we are allowed to critise and comment on the world we live without being accused of being Xenophobic. Furthermore, like some people I am well versed in neo imperialism and the right and wrongs of the west and we all know the faults of our nations and the Western media. However, we do have a independent minds to think free for ourself. History shows with people like Hitler that absolute power and control can manipulate and control a nation.
