Kim Il Jung Is Dead (Page 5) StuckInTheSixties: It's financially IMPLAUSIBLE ... and, for all intents and purposes impossible ... ... NOW. Go back sixty years, when the city was ruined. It was rebuilt. The premise of my question was "Instead of rebuilding it in the same, perilous location, why didn't they move it?" Had they done that, the North would not have that Damocles Sword hanging over the head of Seoul. (Edited by StuckInTheSixties) Hyenablood: it's pretty clear that the leaders and army of korea don't have alot going on upstairs, if they had half a brain they'd be more civilzed, but then again prehapes not. Hyenablood: yes yes north korea, really I can't say which is smarter or whatever, the north or south... StuckInTheSixties: South Korea is a very sophisticated and successful society. They dramatically contrast to their bizarre neighbors to the north. StuckInTheSixties: I guess it's a confluence of factors. But somehow winding up with that dynasty of crackpot leaders is the glue holding that insane asylum together. We haven't heard much from the new one. Maybe he won't be quite as crazy as his dad and grandpa. We can only hope ... OCD_OCD: I'm sharing the hope, Sixties. They don't get much crazier than Ahmadenijad, Kim Jung Il or that crazy Camel faced Ghadaffi. LOL Comrade_: bbc - "Glimpses of real North Korean life behind the facade" http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/newsnight/8711895.stm StuckInTheSixties: Seen plenty of that stuff in the past. Familiarity doesn't make it any easier to see. They fool themselves that they think they fool anyone else. OCD_OCD: I'm surprised Jack isn't telling us how wonderful N. Korea is. How happy all of their people are. How they share the wealth.... Comrade_: I'm not surprise that you're attacking me in a neutral thread. Why do you carry your hurt into other threads OCD? If you have an issue with me I think discussing that in PM is the best way that lashing out in every thread. OCD_OCD: My hurt? LOL Uh-huh. I have no desire to speak with you privately. If you have anything to say, you say it here. Comrade_: I have nothing to say, hence I don't address you if you notice I was pretty much ignoring you till you brought me up there in your post. You know if you have issues can you settle them on your own. I'm not interested. k. good I stick to the topic. N.Korea is partly the way it is based on it's history, as is S.Korea. I think they were split with Russia taking the North and spreading communism and the South being taken in by the US under democracy & capitalism. Before that they were brutalise by Japan. Comrade_: Really you need to chill. It is history I was referring to. Modern day Japan has nothing to do with the brutality that was done in the past. It is as a timeline, before they were split into two, they were under the Japanese. 1945 - After World War II, Japanese occupation of Korea ends with Soviet troops occupying the north, and US troops the south. 1946 - North Korea's Communist Party (Korean Workers' Party - KWP) inaugurated. Soviet-backed leadership installed, including Red Army-trained Kim Il-sung. I admit that I'm not 100% sure but I can do the research, the North & South are different mostly because of their History and different paths. Comrade_: hmm how was I "damning Japan"? I was referring to history. You want me to say that the then Japanese leader were sweet and kind to the then Koreans? Sorry for not being PC, history is what it is as I said Modern day Japan has nothing to do with the past. "1910 - 45 - ...the Japanese ruled with an iron fist and attempted to root out all elements of Korean culture from society. People were forced to adopt Japanese names, convert to the Shinto (native Japanese) religion, and were forbidden to use Korean language in schools and business. The Independence Movement on March 1, 1919, was brutally repressed, resulting in the killing of thousands, the maiming and imprisoning of tens of thousands, and destroying of hundreds of churches, temples, schools, and private homes. During World War II, Japan siphoned off more and more of Korea's resources, including its people, to feed its Imperial war machine. Many of the forced laborers were never repatriated to Korea." - -http://www.lifeinkorea.com/information/history2.cfm -http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/shared/spl/hi/guides/456900/456994/html/nn2page1.stm You can find more in whatever history site you might want to read on. Any more questions OCD or are you done now? OCD_OCD: You say modern day Japan has nothing to do with the past and then you go on to quote 1910-1945. Puhleeze. OCD_OCD: "Love" is not angered. ROFL I simply pointed out that you said one thing and then denied it in the same breath. Comrade_: Denied what? Modern day Japan has nothing to do with the past. I showed what happened in the past...you first complain about me not having proof, then I show you. Now you complain about something else. C'mon why you don't listen to me? You just seem to come with one thought already in mind: Jack is talking bs again. Then you skim through to find a crack in my statements and drill on that...there's no crack now you make up one? I'm not a bad guy, OCD..just show me some love once in awhile. No attack. | Off Topic Chat Room Similar Conversations |
