Dennae: Have to disagree Jack. Ask anyone that has had known someone that died in a drunk driving accident. Or how many times a barmaid has been sexually assaulted by a patron. Or a bouncer who has been king hit by a drunk at 2AM.

Comrade_: If you want to make it personal then, How often does a smoker depend on their cigarette breaks, Charlie? Realistically these employers see it as counter-productive, not all employers will but given the job it can be.

Comrade_: Disagree on what? Alcohol in itself isn't dangerous, it is the amount. Marijuana smoking do cause accidents (the research is there), second-hand smoking kills.

OCD_OCD: As was stated earlier, are cigarette breaks more counter-productive than surfing the internet while at work? Again, common sense, personal responsibility and decency would go a long way to solving the problem.

Dennae: Weird thing about the makeup touch up. Most loose powders, mineral powders, eye liners and rouge/blush contain cadmium and cadmium compounds.

Cadmium is a Level 1 carcinogenic

TactiC4lTurtle: It all depends on the job, if the job prohibits you from doing something in order to keep a safe environment, or requires you to have certain abilities and you cannot comply then you do not need to apply. I don't know what that online ad was for but I can see the absolute no smoking on premises rule if you work at a plant where they handle volatile chemicals/explosives.

In my opinion, If the employer's criteria has a huge impact on your ability to complete the given tasks then it's not discrimination.

OCD_OCD: If I want to know what someone is doing, I'll call them or see them. If they want to know what I'm doing, they can call me or see me. I'm not going to watch them live their lives vicariously through their Facebook. It's just so....reality tv-ish.
