Would you rather go to prison or church? (Page 5) duncan124: No , its Hicksvilles , 'you were too loud in your car at the other end of the street so I crashed.' Whimsical Fairy: I'm sure all (3) boys knew what they were doing was wrong Geoff. I doubt any of them considered what could happen because of their actions (as in 2 of them dying) Any of those boys could have been driving. duncan124: BAH! Humbug! you are anti-child shout because its Christmas time. The courts have to sort out what did happen and if someone did commit an offense they can,t change the sentence. ~LoisLane~: Any Judge can change a sentence if they see its fit.(might not be what we want but.....)
duncan124: A judge can't say well I feel sorry for you so I am not going to give you the sentence the other judges do. Justice cannot be arbitrary. duncan124: No they can't , There are just a lot of choices of sentence the judge can make. In some states the judge had to make clear that was what he was doing. duncan124: Thats not the point of the story. The idea is that you can be part of any church or religion and its your problem if its just phooey. But you are stuck with the people in the USA making the wrong choices until you die. Whimsical Fairy: Alrighty, I have no clue what Duncan is on about and I really have nothing more to add at this time...so I bid you all a good day duncan124: In other words everything in your town ,city, or state could be phooey relligion and its A OK with the law if it is , there is nothing you can do about it. duncan124: Unless the young man was driving the car he is not responsable for how it is driven. You can't blame people for being together and no-one is responsable for the others. duncan124: Geez just saying before Christmas... a bunch of hicksville hillbillies blaming young people because of their age.. and don't say you know what to do either 'cos you obviously don't. NewWaveSpacePirate: I'm an atheist, but my choice would be church. Seriously. I'd lose an hour a week instead of ask my freedoms. They can preach at me but they can't convince me of anything. Plus I could catch up on my reading, so at worst, it would be like a mildly annoying study hall. Also, I wouldn't have committed manslaughter in the first place, so Bob's your uncle. Whimsical Fairy: "Involuntary manslaughter" No malice, a terrible accident brought on by a very bad choice. | Off Topic Chat Room Similar Conversations |
