GeraldTheGnome: Early 2007 to early 2008 was a dark time for me, I had a number of 'females', if any of them were actually females, that were trying to con me into various things on internet dating sites, emails, one website (that was partially a dating site) and on the phone.

Hyenablood: Gerald maybe you should go out and meet the woman face to face, it sounds like the internet dating stuff isn't working out. There is a thing called succeful singles dating, it basicly is a bunch of single people that get together and do an activity like mountain biking and stuff. It get people together, doing a activity while getting to know eachother. I hear about all the time in the paper in the loney heart advice section.

GeraldTheGnome: I did the face to face suff as well as the internet dating stuff as well as some SMS stuff, the SMS stuff was in effect the dumbest thing, I fell for it for the time period that I mentioned about, I am embarrassed, humiliated about it and it only caused my major problems. I got over that and never looked back. I recently did join a internet dating site but I have no intention of making myself visible there, I'm completely undetectable to all of its members for a reason I won't explain. I had two unusual internet cases, one was where this girl pretended to be interested in me, soon after the bit about her being stuck in Nigeria or Gambia kicked, I can't remember which, after that I was asked for a money order so I did some detective work.

I traced the place that was mentioned to a spot at Regents Park, bravely or stupidly, which ever way you want to think about it, I went to the house and found out that the guy there that was supposed to be her uncle here in Australia was really a guy that she attempted to pull off the scam before me. Not surprisingly I talked to the Federal Police about it and they said they were too busy dealing with possible 'terrorist activity' in Australia. I laughed at that and told them that they are just paranoid, also that there is no true terrorist threat in Australia after I rolled my eyes.

The other internet situation is one where I am afraid of showing my photo on the internet, well ever since what happened.
