The new wireclub gaming rule protest. (Page 4)

CerealKing: I haven't had a chance to read everything yet, and I didn't plan on replying to this thread again but I wanted to point out

" Owen: Oh, regarding ads; we love an ad-free site. Besides the ones you may get in chat rooms, wireclub has always avoided using ads as much as possible.

Wireclub had google adsense for ages, when I joined wireclub ads were everywhere Owen, I even remember when they had ads inside the chat room "CerealKing, do you wanna lose weight? click here" or something like that lol ( although that form of advertisement was short lived, the google adsense wasn't. ). so I will have to disagree with you on that Owen. They even advertised when they first made the gold badges that if you bought the gold badge you wouldn't see ads anymore. I do not know the true story behind the wireclub google adsense, but I do know that google adsense is not allowed on chat sites period, and google doesn't care how many members you have, they will ban any site for any reason unless you're in the top 500 on Alex rankings.

So if they got banned or if they really "voluntarily" chose not to be an ad based site like every other social network is to be seen. But in the end, all social network sites without ads will eventually die unless they find an alternative to make money, which is what wireclub is trying to do right now, and I admire them for that, but I still think the simplest and easiest solution is not allowing members to trade chips or credits for 1 or 2 months. Most people would be beyond pissed off to make 5 fake ID's wait for 2 months to trade chips, then after they were able to trade 2000 chips to their new account it gets deleted along with the chips. The chip farming would eventually come to an end that way. It's the easiest solution and it WOULD work. Also finding an alternative for google ads would help, MySpace did it when it was an internet giant and so does facebook.

Edit: As I read more on this thread I noticed the mods saying give your suggestion and it will be taken into consideration. No one gave any suggestions that I can see, but I think the one I gave above is fool proof. There are not that many members on wireclub, and there are even less members that play games. The fakes will be beyond easy to spot. The 1-2 month rule is fool proof and if you think it's not, tell me why. Also we don't need a proxy detection program to find the fakes. You see a new profile that has 50,000 chips in their account and only 1 picture or no pictures of people, and they didn't pay ( Rod can see who buys chips and how many chips/credits they have in their account and I am sure Veronica/Braden/Chris probably can as well. ) Case closed, this person is a fake. You don't see people like me, Goalie, or anyone else making fake ID's to abuse the system.

Also I'm really doubting that a professional proxy detection program costs thousands per month, I'd like to see an example of this. show me a website that sells this please? I'd love to view their monthly price plans, and back to the main point, there's not enough users that play games to even have to worry about that. Fakes are beyond easy to find, just keep an eye on their chip count and you'll find them quickly.

DaddyFish
DaddyFish: I'm so glad I quit Bingo when I did (before the "Gold Standard" was implemented). All I have to say is that if you don't like it, leave. Wire will get the point when their stream of revenue begins to dry up.

Remember, these games are gambling. When did you ever go to a blackjack table in real life and share cards with your buddy? Or not see product ads in the slots room? Wire has bills to pay too. Don't like the prizes you win at the casino? Go complain and see where it gets you. At least wire provides an open forum like this to get feedback. Appreciate wire for what it is - a business. If you don't like a business, find another.

I'll "clam up" now

PrevalentChaos: DaddyFish, you cannot share CARDS in Blackjack in a real life casino. But speaking of real life casinos...I can give my CHIPS to anyone I wish to (my buddy, the dealer, a total stranger) and the casino does not charge me a "fee" for this. In wire I can't give anything to even my friends without paying a "fee", but I can tip the bingo caller? This is flawed. There are no complimentary drinks, food, perks, etc, on wire that I get from my local casino (just for signing up and playing), but I do get a small daily reward for showing up so that's a good start and what I'd consider the equivalent. My local casino doesn't care where my coins or chips came from (my own pocket, my sugar daddy, or even my Mom). All the casino cares about is that I show up and play. I can assure you they do not limit me to $200.00 in a day in play, either! It doesn't matter if I'm blowing my life's savings at the Blackjack table, or playing penny slots...the same cocktail waitress will bring me a drink on the house. I get that this is a virtual world of gaming and you can't give me a cocktail, but thanks for the daily bonus. If you want to make money let me, my sugar daddy, whomever, spend whatever they want to on credits and chips and don't charge us (again) to give them to anyone. Base Gold Memberships on the members actual play (not purchase) and reward those who faithfully play and support your community. I feel the Wireclub administration could learn a lot from the Las Vegas casino industry. Please consider, and thanks for allowing the members to express their views and opinions publicly.

Wireclub Admin: I am so very sorry about this. To be completely transparent with the community, we had to do restrict transfers to Gold members because people were constantly abusing our daily freebies.

When the situation escalated, we had to chose between having to stop giving out free stuff altogether or restricting transfers to Gold members only.

I decided for the restrictions instead of ending the freebies because I believe everyone should be able to use everything Wire has to offer for free.

I hope this brings a little more clarity to this conversation

Wireclub Admin: CerealKing: While the "fakes" may be easy to spot upon examination, we don't have the resources to do so. Our team is very small and because of our commitment to everyone's privacy, we cannot share the information we use to locate the "fakes" with anyone who isn't full-time with us (for example, the Mod team have only access to a very limited subset of that information). This means that any solution that involves human beings systematically looking for the "fakes" is not practical because we can't afford to hire more human beings at this time.

Mini Me: Let me start with I like Wireclub, for the most part! Singlesnet was free for many years and did great. Then a few years ago they began charging to chat...guess who is gone and now Match.com. I can see this happening here on WC. I am on a limited income and support 2 kids...I simply must 'beg' for cards when needed as I can not afford to buy a Gold Membership or even cards for that matter.

Nymphetamine Ene
Nymphetamine Ene: Hm, i see it this way; first of all if you are using certain site moment you make account you agree with site rules. This thingy with golden membership is very simple, if you wanna give things to people you have to buy with real money, so nothing really changed for people who usually invest into having fun on imaginary gambling. For me changed a lil bit, coz i don t like buying things online, and i wanted the other day give chips i don t use to my friend. Anyway, who ever wants to play any of a games on wireclub will continue doing that no matter on golden membership or not. I think it is just fine till the point where you have to be golden for chatting up in rooms or buy golden membership to join the site. Anyway site as a site can lose some users get some users, make imaginary users base... there is many options; and if 1000 ppl deletes it doesn t mean site went to hell, it just stays same with people investing real money into it. and it is something i would do too, if i had chat site.
And Rod, you know you can expand mod team. I bet there is at least 10 people which would join to moderating a site.

Wireclub Admin: I feel like some of you are so used to dealing with big faceless (or evil?) companies that you are overlooking the fact that we are nothing like Facebook or Google.

There are just four of us working on Wireclub full-time, and we share a tiny office that can only fit three people (try to picture that). Over the years I have put more of my own money into Wire to keep it alive than I have ever made it back. That is because I try to be as nice as possible while still being able to pay our monthly bills.

So yes, being called "greedy" hurts, and that is coming from someone who is used to being called all sorts of names in a daily basis

ssSpants: honestly, it seems like a profitable site to me. at least lately. we all work to make money, so this should be no different. its a very good site and i wish you the best with it.
I just dont have incentive to buy gold just for the luxury of being able to give away my earnings. It also seems to be a steep price for only 1 month membership.
Just my 2 cents.

Nymphetamine Ene: well spongie, try to have a company. it is not easy thing. firstly you have to invest, then it seeks more investing,of course you have to try to make some profit out of it. do you know how much it costs just having a place on server? aint cheap.

and Rod look, nobody is calling you greedy, you do what you have to do to keep site alive, thats reasonable. you can t judge someone if you didn t try to walk in their shoes. you know what else hurts? being misunderstood.

Wireclub Admin: Hi Ene & Spongie, you both framed in a very nice way from two different angles - (Ene) the "freebies" we give out are meant to be enjoyed by each user individually. (Spongie) But since some people also buy credits, I think it is fair that they get to do anything they want with it - and Gold give you that privilege.

Wireclub Admin: I know Ene, I am not happy about the situation myself. We have been trying different things to see what works the best for everyone. Just two weeks ago we tried to solve the problem by implementing a transfer fee, which was since removed because I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of "taxing" the whole community in order to solve a problem caused by a small subset of it
